Spring 2012 Lookbook: LORAC Lips With Benefits Lip Gloss, “Mark,” and “Alex,” Photographs & Swatches
LORAC recently released a set of lip glosses called Lips With Benefits and they are incredible. First of all, look at that packaging! The swirls of sparkle and striped hues are so eye-catching and add a little something extra, not to mention the colors are gorgeous. These lip glosses smell absolutely heavenly, like a cross between creme brulee, caramel, and cotton candy. Each lip gloss is completely non-sticky and lasts a long time on the lips. I have two to swatch and show you in this post. To see photographs and swatches, read more…

The third and final look in my LORAC Unzipped Eyeshadow Palette Series is SMOKEY. The smokey look is all about being sultry, sexy, and sophisticated. You can still amp your eyes up in a sophisticated way with a neutral palette of colors by creating a gorgeous bronzed smokey eye. This look is inspired by the always gorgeous Olivia Wilde who is often seen in bronze and chocolate smokey eyes. If you have blue or green eyes, this look is going to make your eyes look even lighter, and if your eyes are hazel or brown, this look will make them look extra sparkly. The second look in my LORAC Unzipped Eyeshadow Palette Series is all about being playful, colorful, and fun. Neutral eyeshadow shades are the perfect complement to some brightness, whether it be on your lips, cheeks, or even your eyes, in the form of a bold eyeliner. I decided to add some sparkling turquoise eye liner to give the look a major pop and create some fun. This is actually my favorite way to wear really bright eyeliner and I regularly pair nude eyeshadow shades with brights along the lash line. To see photographs and a tutorial on this look, read more…

I decided to do a three-part series of makeup looks using the LORAC Unzipped Palette that I just reviewed and swatched here on Beauty Gala. It’s a gorgeous palette of shimmery and matte nude shades and the possibilities are endless! I decided my first look would be a “GLAM” look, the type you’d wear for that classic, bombshell, night-out-on-the-town face. To see the tutorial and plenty more photographs of the look, read more…

The LORAC Unzipped Eyeshadow Palette is definitely an alternative to the ever-so-famous Urban Decay Naked Palette. Upon receiving this gorgeous eyeshadow palette, the first thing I thought was how similar the two are, and so I was sure to look for any differences I noticed. This palette contains ten eyeshadows versus Urban Decay’s twelve, however, this palette is less expensive than the Naked Palette. Another huge score for this palette is that it contains a wonderfully healthy mix of matte eyeshadows in it, which a lot of people prefer to work with, or at least have the option to work with in a palette. The eyeshadow in this palette is also larger than in the Naked Palette, yet they still have extremely rich, pigmented color payoff. For this look, I used the LORAC Multiplex 3D Eyeshadow Palette, focusing on the top 3 warm shades in the palette. The effect reminds me of a Sahara desert sunset, with warm shades of bronze, gold, and mauve. This is an incredibly simple eye look, and if you want to try this at home, you can use any eyeshadow colors you have that are similar, however, the LORAC palette is incredibly gorgeous, pigmented, and has the most amazing duo-chrome eyeshadow in it (on my bottom lash line). LORAC Multiplex 3D Eyeshadow Palette is all about bringing the holographic dazzle to your eyes. Each eyeshadow is luxuriously soft and silky, and applies like a dream, while also putting down gorgeous, rich color. If you’ve never had the privilege of trying LORAC’s eyeshadow, it is a definite must. Each of these eyeshadows has a gorgeous “3D” luster to it, making it look that much more pigmented when used. These two blushes were in front of the LORAC Cosmetics display in Sephora for the past several months, as they were new releases, and they instantly caught my eye. For one, I love LORAC Cosmetics, and I use a lot of their products. Also, the shades of blush really spoke to me as colors you could wear with a lot of different makeup looks. With both in my shopping bag, I excitedly brought them home, ready to see how pigmented these blushes were. read more…

LORAC Cosmetics had a fantastic sale over at HauteLook about two weeks ago, blowing out their cosmetics for up to 80% off. During the sale, I picked up some Lip Polishes – cute, creamy, richly colored lip glosses that come in nail polish inspired bottles. Right now, these LORAC Lip Polishes are on clearance for only $3 on the LORAC Website. The packaging on these are adorably cute, looking exactly like nail polish bottles, and even unscrewing to a “polish brush” applicator like nail polish. The color in these is pigmented and rich, and the formula is creamy and non-sticky. To see more photographs, read more…
