The LORAC Alter Ego Eyeshadow Palette in Heartbreaker is an Ulta exclusive for Summer 2015. I told myself that I wasn’t going to buy this palette because I didn’t need another eyeshadow palette, but low and behold, I found myself staring at it a few weekends ago. The bright colors instantly drew me in and after swatching it in Ulta, I knew it was going home with me. I’ve got full swatches and my review for you today. I always love to do at least one eyeshadow look using palettes when I swatch them, but this week has been crazy hectic for me, and tomorrow is my sister’s Senior Prom, so it will be spent doing full faces of makeup and doing photography. Enjoy the gorgeous swatches!
The packaging is what initially drew me to this palette. Both the box it comes in and the outside of the palette is extremely bright in color. I love when brands go out of their way to make their packaging match the feel of the season.
The LORAC Alter Ego Eyeshadow Palette in Heartbreaker contains ten eyeshadow shades in a mixture of matte and shimmer finishes. There is a good mix of neutrals, brights, and pastels. This palette really is the epitome of summer to me.
SWATCHES:
LEFT SIDE: The left 4 shades are perfect for daytime wear. You have a light to medium matte brown shade, a peachy-pink matte shade, a grape shimmer, and a bronze shimmer. These were all super pigmented and soft. I was more than impressed by how much color these laid down in just one or two swipes.
RIGHT SIDE: The right side of the palette contains a stunning bright metallic sea-blue, a metallic silver, a shimmering light blue, and a shimmering chocolate brown with golden glitter in it. I was shocked by how much I loved this side of the palette. The formulation on these are perfection. I especially love that fabulous metallic sea-blue shade because it was so pigmented and smooth.
BOTTOM TWO SHADES: The bottom two shades are perfect for highlighting your brow-bone, inner corners of the eyes, and even along the cheekbones. One is a matte pearl shade and one is a high shimmer white. Both were super smooth and opaque.
Overall, I had no issues with this palette in any way, shape, or form. I was actually very surprised by the pigmentation of this palette, as it was perfectly opaque, smooth, and rich in color. If you’re a fan of going bright for summer or simply want the option to mix and match, this is a lovely palette for you. I’m personally a huge fan and can’t wait to put some looks together for you on here using it!
The LORAC Alter Ego Eyeshadow Palette in Heartbreaker is an Ulta exclusive product. It can be found at Ulta stores nationwide as well as online at Ulta’s website here. Each palette retails for $24.00USD, which for typical prestige brand makeup, is quite the beauty bargain.
