When I was younger, I used to grab a stack of magazines, scissors, glue, and a piece of poster-board and create collages filled with pictures and words I loved. So naturally, when I saw the packaging of the new LORAC California Dreaming Palette, I was taken back to a simpler time when I spent my days being artistic because there was no internet. The outside of the palette is super quirky and retro, with various symbols and emoticons splashed over it. The inside of the palette is just as gorgeous, albeit a bit more sophisticated. Swatches and photographs of the inside after the jump!
The California Dreaming Palette is filled with an array of dazzling shadows that have a laid-back California vibe to them. When I look at the inside of the palette, I instantly think of the west coast because the shades are sunny and beautiful, but muted and very chill.
Each shade has a California-inspired name. There are 12 shades total, with a mixture of matte, satin, and shimmer finishes. The first shade that caught my eye was “Kitty Cat” because it gleams like no other.
The formulation on California Dreaming is beautiful. The shadows are smooth and pigmented. I like the mixture of finishes and the diverse shades in the palette.
