Summer 2011 Lookbook: Zoya Mod Matte Nail Polish Collection

One of Zoya’s brand new additions is their Mod Matte Nail Polish Collection. While I am not usually a huge fan of matte nail polish, Zoya has managed to completely change my mind with this collection. Deciding to bring us 3 punchy colors, they break up the monotony of the boring black or gray matte nail polish we see everywhere. Not only are the colors vibrant and intense, but the formula is smooth as butter, and the finish is actually more of a velvet matte rather than looking very flat. Lookbook: Sleek Makeup Pout Polish SPF15, “Scandal” Photographs & Swatches

My amazing friend and fellow beauty blogger Annabella at Skin Scrubs sent me some beauty goodies straight from the UK, where she lives, that are not available here in the United States. Not only was I elated when I received the package, but she even sent me a super cute cupcake card, and some really great products. Sleek Makeup is a UK-based beauty company getting a ton of buzz right now for their eyeshadow palettes and products because they are inexpensive but very pigmented. If you are from the US, you can find Sleek on eBay, however be forewarned…prices can be marked up there because of demand! Sleek Pout Polish is just one of the amazing Sleek products she sent me, and I have been so excited for this post. Lookbook: Illamasqua Pure Pigment, “Static” Photographs & Swatches

Illamasqua Pure Pigment in “Static” has got to be one of the most gorgeous pigments I’ve ever seen. I have been obsessed with owning this pigment for a long time, and finally made it mine. The duo-chrome effect is very unique and changes from a white pearl to a bright sparkling purple. You can wear it alone, or use it on top of other eyeshadow for an extra special touch. I personally wore this today over a purple eye makeup look for Easter, and I got a ton of compliments on it. To see photographs and swatches, read more…

Lookbook Review: Own Plump Hydration Lip Therapy, “Chili Pepper”

Own Products are completely natural, with skin-care, lip-care, and anti-aging products in their line. Plump Hydration Lip Therapy is a shiny, sheer rollerball lip gloss with major lip plumping properties. I was mostly enticed by the packaging when I was in Ulta, and the fact that I had never seen the brand before. Also, these came in 3 different intensities: True Mint, Cinnamon Bark, and Chili Pepper. Naturally, being up for the challenge, I went straight for the Chili Pepper intensity. To see photographs, swatches, and before/after pictures, read more…

Physician’s Formula Happy Booster Bronzer is such a fun, gorgeous powder product! Everywhere I go, these bronzers and powders are always sold out on the shelves. I finally got my hands on the bronzer, though they also have the Happy Booster products in face powders and blush. These products are infused with their “Happy Boost Blend,” featuring Happy Skin and Euphoryl, natural plant extracts which have been shown to promote a feeling of happiness by mimicking the effect of endorphins and helping protect the skin from environmental stress. This was my first time ordering from Beauty From The Earth Cosmetics, and I will definitely be back for more in the future.
