Lookbook: Illamasqua Pure Pigment, “Static” Photographs & Swatches

Illamasqua Pure Pigment in “Static” has got to be one of the most gorgeous pigments I’ve ever seen. I have been obsessed with owning this pigment for a long time, and finally made it mine. The duo-chrome effect is very unique and changes from a white pearl to a bright sparkling purple. You can wear it alone, or use it on top of other eyeshadow for an extra special touch. I personally wore this today over a purple eye makeup look for Easter, and I got a ton of compliments on it. To see photographs and swatches,

Static is a gorgeous white pearl loose powder pigment with a bright violet shift in it. If you’ve never tried Illamasqua products, I highly recommend them, as they are always incredibly pigmented. This pigment has a unique texture, especially since it’s essentially a micro-glitter. The texture is not gritty at all, which I was really surprised at since it is so sparkly. I personally hate gritty glitter eye products because they end up all over your face, and eventually in your eyes…irritating them. The best part is how versatile this shade is…you can use it by itself, over a black or white eyeshadow, or even add it on top of purple or blue eyeshadow for an extra pop of sparkle. I wanted to go bright for Easter today, so I patted this on top of a lavender eyeshadow for extra glimmer!

In order to properly show you how cool the duo-chrome effect is, I wanted to swatch this shade in 3 different ways: over nude primer, over a white base, and over a black base. You can then see how this pigment changes in various lighting and layered with different colors.

Before, my bases (top to bottom): Nude primer, NYX Milk, NYX Black Bean

After, with "Static" applied on all 3

It’s safe to say this is my favorite pigment in my makeup collection, and I’m sure you can guess why…I’m a purple fiend! I applied this wet (I wet my brush with water), and I got absolutely no fall-out with the product by simply patting it on to my eyelids. It lasted all day on my eyes, even through a food-induced nap!
