Sigma Makeup has beautifully expanded their brand beyond makeup brushes, offering gorgeous gift sets called “Hollywood Glamour Kits.” With three kits in the collection, they are exclusively named after and designed with classic Hollywood beauties in mind. “Breakfast With Audrey” is named after Audrey Hepburn, Hollywood’s classic, natural, dainty beauty. “Princess Grace” is named after Grace Kelly, the feminine, sweet actress and beloved Princess of Monaco. The kit I received is “Something About Marilyn,” aptly named after sex-siren Marilyn Monroe with its bright red, attention-getting, classy colors. You may remember the post I did on the Benefit Sunday Funday Maggie Palette, which contains four gorgeous shimmering eyeshadow shades that have great pigmentation, but apply sheer enough to give you a healthy, natural, glowing look. I decided to break out the palette and come up with a great casual weekend look. Many thanks to @Jalove from Twitter for suggesting the name for this eye look – once she suggested it, it got me thinking about how like a beach sunset, it is vibrant, but yet the overall look is soft and glowing. Tutorial: Contouring Your Face 101

main

Contouring is one of makeup artistry’s oldest secrets. Everyone from Marilyn Monroe to supermodels of modern day have gotten contoured during their makeup sessions. Body contouring is popular during photo shoots where skin will be shown, while facial contouring is used for portraits. Contouring is a way to trick the human eye into making your facial features look different without having plastic surgery. It can be used to slim the nose and forehead, create sculpted cheekbones, erase a double chin, and make lips look larger. If you’d like to watch a video tutorial on how to properly execute this technique on yourself, read more…

Lookbook: Caribbean Cool

inspiration

This eyeshadow look was inspired directly by a photograph of the Caribbean Sea. Tropical sea’s typically have white caps where the waves break closer to the shore, with the really vibrant, bright blue next, and the darker waters farther out to sea. When I saw the natural gradient of the sea, I was inspired to do an eyeshadow look that mimics this exactly. This eyeshadow look is playful and fun, and should be paired with demure cheeks and lips, as you really want your gorgeous gleaming blue eyeshadow to stand through. To see how to get this easy look, read more…
