Hard Candy Fox In A Box is brand new to their spring 2011 collection and includes two bronzing duo’s and three blush quad’s. Skinny Dipping, above, is one of the two bronzing duo’s, and gives off gorgeous bronze-coral color. This duo is the brighter of the two bronzing duo’s, and is the best fit for those who are looking for punchy coral color, and a bronze glow. Of course, incredibly fun, bright, and cute packaging never hurts either! To see photographs and swatches, read more…

Hard Candy’s products have that fun, edgy appeal to them, and along with that, you expect great pigmentation from their products. Their Kaleyedescope Baked Eyeshadow Duo’s have great color payoff, and can be used dry for a shimmery look, or wet for more intense, rich color. I got to try out “Pick Up Line,” which is an eyeshadow duo of light, golden green, and a bright blue-green. To see swatches, as well as how this eyeshadow looks on the eye, read more…

If I had to name my favorite drugstore blush of all time, this would be it. Even before Hard Candy sent me this sample, I owned this blush and hit pan on it from using it so much. Living Doll is a gorgeous bright lavender-pink blush with hints of golden shimmer in it. The manner in which this blush lights up your cheekbones is reminiscent of the coveted MAC “Stereo Rose” Mineralize Skinfinish. This leaves your cheeks with that same dewy, fresh glow of color, and it won’t break your budget. To see a lot of photographs and swatches of this gorgeous blush, read more…

Hard Candy, a favorite of mine for a decade now, has some great, affordable, accessible makeup products out there. Sometimes when I stand in front of the Hard Candy display at Walmart, I dream about having the display permanently set up in my bathroom for daily use (a girl can dream, can’t she?). The shades and colors are colorful, fun, and innovative, and Plexi Gloss is no exception. This glossy lip shine is a gorgeous sheer cherry red with silver and ruby shimmer in it. When I first saw this lip gloss in the tube it reminded me of Dorothy’s slippers from The Wizard Of Oz! This is the perfect shade for the upcoming season, with its sheer, juicy pop of ruby red color to your lips. To see more photographs and swatches, read more…

Hard Candy has been around for over a decade, and I distinctly remember using their products when I was in my early teenage years. After a bit of a vacation in the cosmetics world, the brand came back, being sold exclusively at Walmart stores. With very reasonable prices, and bold, inspiring colors, they have a product line that I could just sit and test out for hours. One of my favorite Hard Candy products that is definitely worth picking up is Hard Candy’s Baked Blush in “Honeymoon Peach.” It is the perfect blush for very light to light skin tones, and the most gorgeous highlighter for medium and dark skin tones. I know what you may be thinking right now as you read this, “Purple mascara? I could never pull that off!” But relax, because I am here to tell you that you very easily can, and it will look subtle and gorgeous on you. Hard Candy 1000 Lashes Mascara is a fiberized mascara tube that elongates lashes and separates them flawlessly. “Divine Purple,” has a punch of color to it that shows up on your lashes without disappointing, but also manages to look more “pretty” than “punk.” Adding purple mascara to your regular mascara, or wearing purple mascara alone can really highlight your eye color and make your peepers stand out from afar. Maggie Gyllenhaal Oscars 2010
Maggie Gyllenhaal’s Oscar makeup drew a lot of attention – some were raving about the choice of a bold pink lip, and some thought the warmth of the bronze combined with the cool pink lip clashed. Regardless of your stance on this look, it is extremely wearable for every day, and is especially gorgeous for spring and summer. The look can be customized to your preference by adjusting the intensity of the bronze eye shadow and the pink lip. If you’d like to learn how to get Maggie Gyllenhaal’s Oscar look, read more…
