Video Tutorial: Holiday Smokey Eyes, featuring ybf Cosmetics

Around the holiday season, gift sets are in abundance everywhere, and for good reason. Gift sets, especially cosmetic sets, allow you to use everything you need in one. ybf Cosmetics is a newly discovered makeup brand that I am absolutely loving. I decided to use a ybf palette called Perfect Fit in “Fashion,” featuring four eyeshadow shades that blend together beautifully, as well as a lipstick and lip gloss. This palette allowed me to put together a gorgeous smokey eye that deviates from your typical black and silver eyeshadow.

The look is sophisticated, chic, and a little more subtle in color than your typical smokey eye. It’s perfect for any holiday parties you may be attending, and has the perfect amount of sparkle to it. To see how I achieved the look below, simply watch the tutorial above!

Oh, look who added two more Revlon Lip Butters to her collection…I just can’t help myself! These lip butters are currently my beauty addiction, and I cannot get enough. Lookbook: Revlon Lip Butters, “Sweet Tart,” “Berry Smoothie,” “Lollipop,” Photographs & Swatches

Revlon Lip Butters are all the rage right now in the beauty community. I have seen so many people raving about how amazing these are, and I have to tell you, they have good reason to love this lip product. I admit, when I originally saw these in the drugstore, I commented that they would probably be super sheer, and brushed them off. When I saw how pigmented they were, I was blown away, and had to start my own collection. Since there are twenty in total, I will have to work on my collection slowly, but so far I own Berry Smoothie, Lollipop, and Sweet Tart. Since I typically wear lip colors in the pink family, I went all pink with my first lip butters. To see photographs and swatches of this brand new product, read more…

Lookbook: Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm, “Grape Vine,” Photographs & Swatches

I recently purchased and reviewed the Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm in Pink Punch on here. I really, really enjoyed the product as not only a lip balm, but also as a product that puts down sheer but noticeable color. Since these lip balms cost less than $3, you know I had to go back for another one of them. After tweeting with Maybelline on Twitter, I decided to go with “Grape Vine,” a gorgeous, sheer plum colored lip balm. To see photographs and swatches, read more…

Lookbook Review of My Favorite Eyebrow Pencil: ybf Eyebrow Pencil, Photographs, Swatches, & How-To

The top selling eyebrow pencil in the US, UK, and Canada, ybf’s Eyebrow Pencil is undeniably a must-have product. Our eyebrows frame our entire face and can completely change the way a person looks, for better or worse. I have always enjoyed using a bit of product on my eyebrows because my natural hair color is dark blonde/light brown which translates into light eyebrows. Since I am currently a brunette and plan to stay that way for awhile, it really helps to have a no-fail eyebrow product that fills in and shapes my eyebrows, as well as darkens them a bit. The other extraordinary thing about this eyebrow pencil is that it comes in a universal taupe shade which flatters all complexions and hair colors. To see photographs, swatches, and a how-to on using this amazing eyebrow pencil, read more…

Face of the Day Lookbook: My 3rd Wedding Anniversary Makeup

On Friday, October 28th, my husband and I celebrated three years of marriage. Without getting too mushy on you, I will say that time with him seems to not exist, as it just simply flies by. We married on the beach of Kapalua Bay, in Maui, Hawaii, and it was the most heavenly sixteen days on the islands. Later that night, I wanted to make sure that I looked all dolled up for the occasion. I stuck with simple colors and shades, but amped it up with some sparkle and products that gave it serious staying power. If you’d like to see my anniversary makeup look, the products I used, and how I achieved the look, read more…

As I typed “Holiday 2011″ into the title of this post, I stopped and asked myself where time has gone. It is kind of insane to think that we already approaching the holiday season this year already. Luckily for all you beauty lovers, holiday season also means plenty of new releases in makeup and nail polish. These brand new, limited edition Nicole by OPI Holiday Glitters are all sparkly, festive, and add plenty of bling to your life.

“The holiday season’s celebratory feeling lends itself to added glitz and glamour in fashion, jewelry, accessories, and most importantly – for nails!” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, Nicole by OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “The four alluring Holiday Glitters shades offer a great way to add lots of color. Red and gold glitter tones offer a more classic holiday look, while magenta and sapphire blue incorporate rich, weighty jewel tones – which is another important trend for the season.”

I was very impressed with these limited edition Holiday Glitters because they actually have a gorgeous dimension and depth to them because of the addition of multi-colored glitter and shimmer.
