Lookbook: China Glaze “Eye Candy” Collection, Photographs & Swatches

This winter, China Glaze introduces a nail industry first: utilizing 3-D glitters in its new “Eye Candy” collection.  Inspired by Marilyn Monroe and her timeless allure, this innovative new glitter technology provides a knock-your-eyes-out, super sparkly effect to your manicure. Multi-sized and differently shaped glitter particles are cleverly combined to create a sexy, super decadent, 3-D finish in six bright, eye-popping shades.  Whether you prefer gleaming gold or glamorous smoky grey, China Glaze’s “Eye Candy” collection adds a dazzling finish to your holiday look with a glimmer that is sure to catch everyone’s eye! To see photographs and swatches of the entire collection,

Love Marilyn is a bright red with shimmering silver particles of glitter. This one was love at first sight for me. How unique and gorgeous is this shade? I don’t have anything like it in my nail polish collection. It puts a perfectly new, dazzling spin on traditional bright red glitter polish.

Some Like It Haute is a graphite grey with tons of holographic glitter in it. This nail polish glows like crazy from the holographic particles. No matter what lighting you are in, the holographic glitter just jumps out at you. Also, I love the name of this shade because I absolutely love the movie “Some Like It Hot!”

Material Girl is a posh pink with bubblegum pink glitter in it. The glitter also has a flashy holographic effect to it, making this an incredibly glitzy looking pink shade. This reminds me so much of Glinda from The Wizard of Oz and her entire sparkly pink dress.

Marry A Millionaire is an amethyst with multi-tonal fibers of glitter in it. I like to call this type of glitter “confetti,” because it has a long, thin shape to it. The color is absolutely stunning, and I love the mix of silver, green, and blue flashes the glitter gives off. And as far as the name goes, yet another wonderful Marilyn Monroe movie!

Lorelei’s Tiara is a stunning sterling silver with blue glitter in it. All I have to say about this one is…WOW! This is my favorite out of the collection and it is absolutely extraordinary on the nails. It reminds me of everything winter…snow, icicles, you name it. Brilliant.

Blonde Bombshell is a glistening gold with multi-dimensional flecks of glitter. This shade is sophisticated and chic, and really takes gold nail polish to another level.

Overall: Not only are the shades in this collection beyond stunning, the formula on every single polish was perfection. Usually glitters can be thick or goopy, or not opaque enough, but the above swatches are all two coats (some only needed one). With the formula being so easy to work with, and the shades being so dazzling and brilliant, this is a must-have collection.
