Lookbook: Revlon Lip Butters, “Raspberry Pie,” “Strawberry Shortcake,” Photographs & Swatches

Oh, look who added two more Revlon Lip Butters to her collection…I just can’t help myself! These lip butters are currently my beauty addiction, and I cannot get enough. I picked up Raspberry Pie and Strawberry Shortcake this weekend during a buy one, get one 50% off sale. These lip butters are essentially like gorgeous, pigmented lipsticks with a little bit of extra moisture. The hardest part of buying these is trying to explain to my husband why I need twenty of these! To see photographs and swatches,

Once again, I adore the packaging on these lip butters. The quilted pattern on the tube really adds to the overall aesthetic appeal of this lip butter, and the curved applicator with a silver holder is reminiscent of Dior lip products, which cost three times the price.

I like that they made the top of the lipstick clear so that you can see the actual lip product inside. I am typically turned off by lipstick products that don’t have a see-through portion in their packaging because the outside colors can greatly differ from the actual lipstick color inside the product.

Strawberry Shortcake is a baby doll, bubblegum pink shade that has a slightly milky, blue-toned finish to it. It reminds me of a more wearable version of MAC’s Viva Glam Gaga, actually, and can look similar if applied with a heavy hand.

I love how much more wearable this is on me versus MAC Viva Glam Gaga. It’s milky pink and still has that light blue-tone to it, but it still flatters my skin tone instead of completely washing me out. It’s also nice that you can wear this with a light hand or heavier depending on what your desired outcome is.

Raspberry Pie is a bright berry pink-red. This shade is incredibly pigmented and beautiful. It’s extremely opaque and rich, and just perfect for the upcoming holiday season.

I can definitely see myself wearing “Raspberry Pie” for the holiday season a lot because it’s slightly less intense than a full on red lipstick and has that playful sheen to it.

Overall: As I said in my previous post where I swatched my first three shades of these lip butters, I highly recommend these. There is such a diverse shade range, and the formula is perfect. I am slowly collecting my favorite shades, so keep looking for more posts featuring swatches of these lip butters!

Revlon Lip Butters are currently available at drugstores and mass retailers nationwide. Each lip butter retails for under $8, though you can find various drugstore deals at certain times, including buy one, get one 50% and more. These are part of Revlon’s permanent makeup collection, and there are twenty shades to choose from. Since these are currently brand new and full of buzz, they may be difficult to find, or you may have problems finding certain shades. Be sure to keep looking since more stores will be stocking these!

See my beauty blog review on the lip butter I choose, Crème Brûlée. Maybe it’s the color but I don’t like it.
