MAC Cosmetics Bloggers’ Obsession Collection is a limited edition collection inspired and created by beauty bloggers. Nine beauty bloggers were invited by MAC to their labs to create either an eyeshadow or a lipglass for MAC Cosmetics. I decided to purchase two out of the five lipglasses because they looked absolutely gorgeous and caught my eye. To see photographs and swatches of Sonoran Rain and Evolution Revolution, read more…

So, I couldn’t not post this little item I purchased from my local Target, because it’s just too cute and apropos for me (and other beauty lovers). My husband and I were browsing the aisles of Target leisurely, like we often do, and we walked past the home organization section, where they have the newest items out. There were a few college dorm items already in there, and then these gorgeous kitschy lipstick lamps. To see more photographs, read more…

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick is one of my favorite drugstore lipstick brands. I must own almost every single shade by now (much to my bank accounts chagrin), and I love the way they apply and feel on the lips. Softsilver Red is a gorgeous muted pearl red shade that is extremely flattering on the lips. Softer and more light diffusing than your average red lipstick, this shade is a great pick for those looking to try bolder lip colors, but don’t want to take the plunge quite yet. Covergirl Lip Perfection Lipstick has been around for several months now, receiving a lot of buzz from the media and the beauty community. They have an amazing selection of colors (44, to be exact), and of course, having Taylor Swift as your spokesperson doesn’t hurt either. I already own one of these lipsticks, and I really enjoyed it, but I picked up your typical pink lipstick shade that I always reach for first. Determined to purchase a lipstick shade “out of the box” for me, my eyes went straight to Divine, a blazing pure purple shade. There was only one left in the store, so I figured it must be attracting people anyway. Was Divine a good purchase? read more…

I love Sleek Makeup. In fact, I love it so much that I’m ready to pick up my three dogs and husband and move to the United Kingdom so I can visit the aisles of Superdrug in endless abounds. Of course I’m just kidding — but in all honesty, I am completely in love with Sleek and their products. They make incredibly high quality, pigmented makeup for extremely impressive prices. The catch is that they are not sold here in the United States, and you must pay for international shipping online through their website. The Mediterranean Collection is limited edition for summer 2011, and contains three brand new products: the Monaco i-Divine Palette, Santorini Blush, and Monte Carlo Pout Polish. I skipped out on the Pout Polish because I heard from several beauty bloggers that it had barely any pigment to it, but wait until you see the gorgeousness that is the other two items of this collection… read more…

TINte Cosmetics is an independent color cosmetic line, most known for their flavored lip colors in vintage slider tins and flavored lip shine glosses. Their lip products come in a wide variety of delicious flavors and scents, and add extra moisture with shea butter. The creator, Stacy Provines Reid, designed this line to be reminiscent of a simpler time, yet be sophisticated enough for the modern day woman. She has absolutely succeeded in creating fun, flirty, retro-licious makeup products that are fun to look at and use. The Match Book Kit in Blushed Beauty is a purse-sized palette containing everything you need for the perfect makeup look. In fact, I have a video already recorded showing you how to use this palette for the perfect look. To see photographs and swatches of this adorable palette, read more…

Behold the beauty and power of Barracuda! Tracy Reese for Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Barracuda is a brand new, limited edition shade in this collection, and boasts a gorgeous blue creme color. I drove to five separate drugstores this morning on a great hunt for this nail color because it was sold out everywhere I went. I finally got lucky and snagged the last one at a Walgreens, and I am so grateful I found one. Barracuda is a light blue creme nail lacquer which really glows on your finger nails. For those of you who follow me on Twitter, you may have heard how disappointed I was when I found out how quickly the My Paradise Cheek Powder from the MAC Surf Baby Collection sold out. The first day it was released, it was gone within an hour, and when they restocked a week later, it was gone again in an even shorter amount of time. My in-laws were visiting over Memorial Day weekend, and I decided to hit up my local MAC counter by chance. When I mentioned to the employee that everything I wanted was sold out online, she said, “I actually have two of those cheek powders left.” At this point, I may or may not have shrieked in the middle of a department store. Of course, I scooped one up with a goofy look of success on my face as she rang my purchase up at the counter. Long story short: This cheek powder is not only gorgeous, but it is also in high demand and hard to find. To see photographs and swatches, read more…

The OPI Serena Williams Glam Slam! England Collection is a brand new limited edition duo-pack created with tennis star Serena Williams to coincide with Wimbledon. The first Lacquer set includes Your Royal Shine-ness, a metallic silver shade, paired with Servin’ Up Sparkle, a shimmer-packed silver glitter. The second Lacquer set also features Servin’ Up Sparkle, along with Grape…Set…Match, a metallic purple.
“England’s premier tennis tournament warrants colors with extra glitz and glamour,” said Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “The next big trend in nails is making lacquer look 3-dimensional by adding different micas and glitters, turning fingertips into jewelry. With two bold metallics and a sparkling glitter, these colors are fit for royalty.”
And fit for royalty this collection is! Each shade is completely stunning, and applied like a dream. I’m not sure if OPI has taken extra care with their formula lately, but every single summer shade they have released so far has been pure perfection in formula. Calling all pink lovers! The OPI Nice Stems Collection for Summer 2011 is going to rock your socks off with four gorgeous shades and finishes of pink polish for your fingers and toes. I am personally loving this collection, and I am very impressed with the formula of each of these shades, including the lightest.
“These vibrant, feminine hues complement 60’s ladylike fashions, 70’s glam looks, and bold color-blocking, which are the season’s staples,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “The Nice Stems! collection also offers an interesting contrast and feminine accent to the punk and biker looks on the runways.”
Each shade has a cheeky flower inspired name, and of course, the shades remind us of the vibrant, feminine colors of flowers in the summertime. To see photographs and swatches of all four of these shades, read more…
