I had several people ask to see what MAC “My Paradise” Cheek Powder looks like on my actual cheeks against my complexion, so rather than just swatch it for a post, I decided to wear it today along with my new MAC Bloggers’ Obsession goodies. This was just a look for going out during the day on a Saturday to lunch with my husband, and then shopping. I adore the way peach cheeks and lips look with green eyeshadow so I decided to pair Jealousy Wakes with Evolution Revolution lipglass from the Bloggers’ Obsession Collection and My Paradise cheek powder from Surf, Baby!
On my eyes I patted down “Jealousy Wakes” across my entire eyelid, and popped “All That Glitters” MAC eyeshadow into the inner corners. I deepened the crease and outer corner up a bit with a matte black for some extra definition. And yes, I have mascara smeared underneath my eye a bit…it has been so hot here that I have had trouble keeping makeup on my face and eyes, even with the best primer’s!
I also swept the matte black I used lightly under my lower lash line, and then lined my lower waterline with my favorite flesh colored pencil, Stila’s Kajal Eyeliner in “Topaz.”
I really love “Jealousy Wakes,” for being such a true emerald green. I also love it because a lot of times when I wear green eyeshadow, it ends up making my blue-green eyes look very red and bloodshot after a few hours of wear. With this shade, my eyes didn’t look at all red, even after wearing it all day long.
On my cheeks, I am wearing MAC’s “My Paradise” cheek powder from Surf, Baby! It gives a light peachy gold sheen to the apples of my cheeks. On my lips, I used “Evolution Revolution” from the new Bloggers’ Obsession Collection. Since the eyes are a bit heavy in color, I left the cheeks and lips peachy and somewhat nude.
And…since everyone enjoys a little self-deprecation, I figured I had to post this one. I was trying to take a photograph of the blush color, and the flash popped off insanely bright. What you see below is the result…
And that is my “Face of the Day” for today!
