Lookbook: Maybelline EyeStudio Color Explosion Eyeshadow Palette, “Forest Fury,” Photographs & Swatches

I am slowly getting sucked into the world of Maybelline EyeStudio Palettes again now that they have released a set of new ones called “ColorExplosion.” My husband came home with a surprise for me yesterday evening, and deep down I was actually hoping he came home with one of these. Much to my delight, he had me close my eyes and put my hand out when I felt the small rectangular shape in my hand. He bought me Forest Fury, knowing how much I love green eyeshadow (you know your husband is a keeper when he will go buy makeup for you alone). This palette is simply beautiful, just as “Amethyst Ablazed” was. Pigmented, rich, smooth, and soft, these eyeshadows will knock you off your feet. To see photographs and swatches, read more…

Lookbook: Orly Pinup Collection, “Bubbly Bombshell,” Photographs & Swatches

This is a post I found on my computer and my nails are nowhere near that short anymore, so my apologies if there are discrepancies in photo’s, and you get confused. The Orly Pinup Collection is limited edition for summer 2011, and contains 4 shades that are neons and perky glitters. Bubbly Bombshell is my personal favorite of the collection for obvious personal reasons (purple? check. glittery? check.). To see photographs and swatches, read more…

Lookbook Review: Lip Savvy Star Studded Shine Lip Gloss, “OMG,” Photographs & Swatches

Lip Savvy is founded by Deidra Whatley, a singer who was traveling around the United States, trying out every piece of makeup and lip gloss you can imagine to find the perfect one. When her makeup bag weighed as much as her musical equipment, she realized if she was going to find the perfect lip gloss, she would have to make it herself. Lip Savvy was born, and her mission is to create efficient, easy-to-use, multi-tasking, fashion-forward lip gloss that embodies the best age-defying technology available today. With so many goodies packed into a lip gloss, I can’t help but be extremely impressed by this product. On first glance, it’s a beautiful looker, with its’ stylish, chic, colorful packaging and its’ gorgeous sparkling pink color preview. Makeup Look: “Amethyst Ablazed,” using Maybelline EyeStudio Color Explosion Palette

I had some requests to do a makeup look using the Maybelline EyeStudio Color Explosion Palette in Amethyst Ablazed, so I went ahead and put this look together. Not only do I adore the quality of the eyeshadow in this palette, but I adore the colors. As a purple lover, I am loving how rich and pigmented these shades are, and how they will make any eye color pop (especially my blue-green eyes). The silver shimmer “topcoat” eyeshadow finished the entire look for ultra glamorous results. To see more photographs and swatches, as well as a guide on how I got this look, read more…

Lookbook: Maybelline EyeStudio Color Explosion Eyeshadow Palette, “Amethyst Ablazed,” Photographs & Swatches

By now it is no secret how much I love Maybelline EyeStudio Palettes. A simple browse through the Maybelline posts I’ve done on Beauty Gala will show you that I own almost all of the quad’s, and I adore using them for their rich pigmentation and soft texture. So of course, there I am in the drugstore, and I see a brand new set of Maybelline EyeStudio palettes. Never get between a purple lover and purple products…I grabbed Amethyst Ablaze which contains gorgeous shades of violet. Face of the Day Lookbook: MAC “Jealousy Wakes,” Eyeshadow, MAC “My Paradise” Cheek Powder, & MAC “Evolution Revolution” Lipglass

I had several people ask to see what MAC “My Paradise” Cheek Powder looks like on my actual cheeks against my complexion, so rather than just swatch it for a post, I decided to wear it today along with my new MAC Bloggers’ Obsession goodies. This was just a look for going out during the day on a Saturday to lunch with my husband, and then shopping. I adore the way peach cheeks and lips look with green eyeshadow so I decided to pair Jealousy Wakes with Evolution Revolution lipglass from the Bloggers’ Obsession Collection and My Paradise cheek powder from Surf, Baby! read more…

Lookbook: MAC Bloggers’ Obsession Collection Eyeshadows, “Hocus Pocus,” “Jealousy Wakes,” Photographs & Swatches

MAC Cosmetics Bloggers’ Obsession Collection is a limited edition collection inspired and created by beauty bloggers. Nine beauty bloggers were invited by MAC to their labs to create either an eyeshadow or a lipglass for MAC Cosmetics. I decided to purchase two out of the four eyeshadows because they were the ones that looked prettiest via swatches, and also ones I will most likely wear the most. To see photographs and swatches of Hocus Pocus and Jealousy Wakes, read more…
