Right before I walked up to the Ulta cash register, I stopped and grabbed this nail polish out of the LASplash section, and I am glad I did! “Crimson Tide,” has the most gorgeous crimson base and is loaded with gold and ruby glitter in it. It makes for a really unique, shiny, gorgeous nail polish shade, and I am very pleased with it. To see a lot more photographs and swatches, read more…

Sometimes, you just don’t want to spend a lot of money on a lip gloss, whether you are on a budget, or you just want to try a different shade without plunking down a lot of cash. Wet n Wild Diamond Brilliance Lip Gloss has tiny bits of micro-glitter in it, giving them the slightest hint of sparkle and shine. My drugstore was having a sale on these, so they were reduced even further than their typical $2.99 price tag. I picked up “A Girl’s Best Friend,” and “Tamara’s Tiara,” and went home to test and wear these. Want to see swatches and what I thought of them? read more…

Just the other day, I showed two Wet n Wild Color Icon Palettes, including one called “Pride,” which has gorgeous matte and shimmer shades of white, green, and blue. The palettes are a great bargain at under $5 each, and I did a look today that received many compliments. The eyeshadow is so beautifully pigmented in these palettes, that I was able to achieve a vivacious, sea-foam green eye that faded into a dark shimmering blue. The colors together reminded me affectionately of a tropical night when the moon is bright and shining on to the water. To see which colors I used, and how I achieved this look, read more…

Many celebrities are rocking this innovative curled ‘do, and it is achieved through the use of a triple barrel waver. The one I used specifically, Revlon’s Triple Barrel Jumbo Waver, looks almost like a large crimping iron, clamping down onto your hair, leaving a triple waved effect into your hair. Taylor Swift is the most famous wearer of this look, with her crimped, spiral curls cascading from straight roots and bangs. The Revlon Triple Barrel Jumbo Waver is quite possibly the best $25 I’ve ever spent on a hair tool, allowing me to quickly and efficiently achieve Taylor Swift’s pretty waves. The number of times I find myself staring at the lip balm section in the drugstore, wishing there was a lip balm that was tinted enough to actually show up on my lips and look gorgeous, is one too many. Many of the lip balms out there claim to be tinted, or carry color, but just end up being sticky, goopy, and almost colorless. Palladio Herbal Tinted Lip Balm is a favorite of mine now, after randomly purchasing it at my Sally Beauty Supply store. I bought “Golden Pink,” because it made think of NARS famous “Orgasm” shade, pink, but with that golden shimmer and tone to it. To see photographs and swatches, read more…

I purchased two shades from the Sephora by OPI Fall 2010 Collection, and they are “Rock His World,” and “Dating The Drummer.” I purchased these from swatches I saw on the Sephora website, and decided to swatch them here so you can preview before you buy, so read more…

Between the name of this lipstick and the photograph above, you’re probably thinking that I am about to show you a pure black lipstick, but I am not! Clinique Almost Lipstick in “Black Honey” is one of my top 3 favorite lipsticks to wear in the fall and winter for its sheer, moisturizing color and formula. The shade is sheer, but buildable, so you can make the color more dramatic, or simply give yourself a wash of raisin color. I have personally already gone through one of these since last fall/winter because I love it so much. To see photographs and swatches, read more…

The requests for budget beauty just keep pouring in, and so I have to share with you an inexpensive, drugstore find that has smooth, rich pigment, and wears for hours on your eyelids. Wet n Wild Color Icon Palettes contain six shades of eyeshadow, three matte, and three with shimmer effects to them, all for under $5. I originally dismissed these palettes in the drugstore until I finally caved in and purchased one and realized how insanely full of color they are. Of course, I then went out and bought an additional palette, so above are “Vanity,” which is on the left, and “Pride,” which is on the right. To see more photographs and swatches, read more…

The fall season is all about celebrating berry, brown, plum, and neutral lipstick shades. It is no secret that I adore Revlon lipstick, and every time I am in a drugstore, I find myself itching to buy a new shade. Today, I purchased “Berry Haute” from the Super Lustrous Collection, and I have a confession to make…the cute, cheesy name caught my eye right off the bat. The lipstick is a vampy mauve-purple creme, and reminds me a lot of the MAC lipstick, “Up The Amp.” Now, I adore “Up The Amp,” because it is not for the faint of heart. When you wear the color out, people notice your lips, which is part of the reason I love the shade so much. As a departure from the classic red lip, it screams to be the show-stopper, while carrying a unique edge. To see swatches of “Berry Haute,” read more…

I get asked a lot of questions about how I achieve a clean, professional looking manicure at home. I have heard from women that they end up with nothing but a mess, both on their nail, and to clean-up. While my routine is certainly nothing revolutionary, I thought I would make a video tutorial showing you the various steps to achieve a clean, easy manicure at home. Inside, I also included a brief list of every product I used, and where you can purchase these items. So go ahead and read more…
