Video Tutorial: Do-It-Yourself Eyebrow Wax

before
after

Like many others, I always went to a salon to get my eyebrows waxed, because after all, no one wants their eyebrows to be unsuccessfully handled. One day, I became curious about the do-it-yourself process of eyebrow waxing, and I’ve never turned back since. Doing my own eyebrow wax allows me to save money, time, and control the shape and thickness of my eyebrows. Like most reading these words right now, I was nervous about trying it. I am here to break down the process for you into simple, fast steps, and guide you on the materials you will need. To watch this tutorial, see a full product list, and for more tips, read more…

Tutorial: Natural-Glam Makeup

One of the most requested and popular looks among women is a natural but glamorous makeup look. A sexy look that doesn’t appear too heavy or dramatic, yet still plays up your features. This is a look that is perfect for a date, a night out on the town, or a special event. When I received the request for this look from Mandy Buchanan on Twitter, I automatically thought of the queen of the natural-glam makeup look: Angelina Jolie. Maybelline, “Pie in the Sky”

Pieinthesky

Maybelline New York’s limited edition Spring 2010 collection is called “Sweet Thing,” and hosts a variety of pastel colors from cream stick eye shadows, to nail polishes, to lip glosses. Think of this collection’s color palette as the little girls Easter dresses you see every year in stores, only now with sophistication and glamour. My favorite nail polish out of this collection is a pastel, cornflower blue creme called, “Pie in the Sky.” If you’d like to see more swatches of this color, plus the rest of the nail polishes from the collection, read more…

Maggie Gyllenhaal’s Oscar makeup drew a lot of attention – some were raving about the choice of a bold pink lip, and some thought the warmth of the bronze combined with the cool pink lip clashed. Regardless of your stance on this look, it is extremely wearable for every day, and is especially gorgeous for spring and summer. The look can be customized to your preference by adjusting the intensity of the bronze eye shadow and the pink lip. If you’d like to learn how to get Maggie Gyllenhaal’s Oscar look, read more…

“Yellow, It’s Me,” Nicole by OPI Spring 2010

YellowItsMe

Nicole by OPI has introduced a spring 2010 collection featuring fifteen new shades. The collection has something for every nail lover in it – a few of the shades are glitters, and several of these shades have a really gorgeous punch of shimmer in them, making for gorgeous spring and summer manicures or pedicures. I personally purchased “Yellow, It’s Me,” which is a light yellow that contains noticeable bronze and orange shimmer in it. The color almost looks like it has a slight duo-chrome effect as a result, making every flash and turn of your fingers look golden and shiny.
