Essie Spring 2012 Collection, Photographs & Swatches

I love Essie nail polish. I’ve had a love affair since they had mostly all neutral shades that were chic, sophisticated, timeless, and a staple for brides everywhere on their wedding day. Since then, the brand has really evolved by creating lush brights that really pop on the nails. The Essie Spring 2012 Collection has a little bit of something for everyone with pastels, a neutral, and rich brights. To see swatches of the entire collection, read more…

Autumn 2011 Lookbook: Essie Nail Lacquer, “Angora Cardi,” Photographs & Swatches

The perfect fall color. If you close your eyes and visualize what that means to you, I bet Essie’s “Angora Cardi” comes close, if not dead on. To me, this shade is the epitome of autumn, offering a a burgundy cranberry shade that has hints of brown and mauve in it. It’s not too dark where it looks vampy, and it glides on to your nail with smooth, buttery opaque perfection. To see photographs and swatches, read more…

Spring 2011 Lookbook: Essie “Topless & Barefoot” Nail Polish Swatches

The Spring 2011 Essie Collection is called A French Affair and is composed of six shades inspired by wine, sand, and endless shopping. The shades are very light and airy, and are perfect for the warmer weather and sunshine. My personal favorite from this collection is “Topless & Barefoot,” shown above. It is a gorgeous nude beige that applies flawlessly opaque to the nails in just 2 coats. It complements every single skin tone from fair to dark, and makes your fingers look long and elegant. Lookbook: Essie Mink Muffs Nail Polish Swatches

Essie Mink Muffs is one of my all-time favorite chocolate shades in my nail polish collection. It’s a bit of a paradox of a brown in that it looks both light yet rich, and looks very different depending on the lighting you are currently in. Mink Muffs is one of Essie’s best selling shades, because every single time I go to Ulta, that slot in the display is always empty and void of the shade. I was pleasantly shocked to find that my local Walmart had an entirely brand new Essie display that took up the end of an entire aisle. Mink Muffs was part of that display, and I happily scooped it up. To see swatches of this gorgeous shade, read more…

Lookbook: Essie Resort 2010 Collection Swatches

collection

Essie Resort Collection 2010 has been released for the summer, and it consists of four shades. For Essie, these colors are really a huge step in the right direction, as they tend to stick with very sheer, neutral colors. I was so anxious to receive these at my doorstep that as soon as I opened the package, I swatched them so I can share the gorgeousness. To see swatches, read more…

Lookbook: Essie Mint Candy Apple

essie-mint-candy-apple1

Essie Mint Candy Apple is one of Essie’s most beloved nail colors, which was recently brought back in late 2009 to their collection. It is a gorgeous mint creme with slight blue tones that is almost reminiscent of the main shade of Tiffany’s. This shade is definitely more on the green side, but has that slight peek of blue to it. The application is wonderful…not too thick, and not runny, and I was able to apply two coats for a flawless, even look. To see swatches of Essie’s Mint Candy Apple, read more…
