The Spring 2011 Essie Collection is called A French Affair and is composed of six shades inspired by wine, sand, and endless shopping. The shades are very light and airy, and are perfect for the warmer weather and sunshine. My personal favorite from this collection is “Topless & Barefoot,” shown above. It is a gorgeous nude beige that applies flawlessly opaque to the nails in just 2 coats. It complements every single skin tone from fair to dark, and makes your fingers look long and elegant. I cannot stress how flattering this shade is on everyone. It has a slight pink tone in it, making it perfect for every complexion from fair to dark. I have seen this shade on dark skin tones and looks absolutely stunning! Also, the formula impressed me like crazy considering most pastel and light shades usually have problematic formula’s. This one applied wonderfully and allowed me to paint my nails in under ten minutes. With a top coat, you’re looking at gorgeous, shiny nude nails!

I really like these creamy clay coloured shades but are you sure it would look good on pale skin? You seem to have more colour to your skin than me!

Absolutely! I actually made a few of my family members try this on…my mom is paler than I am, and it looked great on her. Made her look like she had piano fingers! My niece, who is half African-American also tried it, and it looked amazing on her, too. Even with my skin tone (which is olive, but doesn’t really get good color unless I use sunless tanner and until the sping/summer), it looks very nude on me…but it is very flattering because of the pinkish undertones. It reminds me of the difference between Lady Gaga Viva Glam II and MAC Blankety lipstick which I did on here…Viva Glam Gaga II is very much a pure brown beige, whereas Blankety has a slightly pink tone to it…making Blankety more flattering, in my opinion!
