Autumn 2011 Lookbook: Essie Nail Lacquer, “Angora Cardi,” Photographs & Swatches

The perfect fall color. If you close your eyes and visualize what that means to you, I bet Essie’s “Angora Cardi” comes close, if not dead on. To me, this shade is the epitome of autumn, offering a a burgundy cranberry shade that has hints of brown and mauve in it. It’s not too dark where it looks vampy, and it glides on to your nail with smooth, buttery opaque perfection. To see photographs and swatches,

The name couldn’t be more perfect for this polish. I think of a cashmere shrug sweater I own in this exact shade and how much I wear it during the fall months, and I am instantly attracted to this shade.

Angora Cardi is a cross between cranberry, burgundy, mauve, and brown. It’s quite interesting how different this color can look depending on the lighting so I included shots below with different light sources (under a lamp with no flash, with flash, etc).

The formula on this polish is a dream. It’s opaque and rich in color in just one coat, though I used two coats like I always do. I really love Essie’s nail polish because it lasts on the nail for a long time. Out of all the nail polish brands I own and have worn, I can honestly say that my longest wearing as a whole are probably OPI and Essie.

Essie “Angora Cardi” is available at drugstores and mass retailers nationwide. Retailers such as Walmart, Target, and drugstores such as Walgreens and CVS now stock Essie in store, and this shade is part of their regular range of colors.
