To achieve this fall forward look, I used New York Color’s Berry Bloom Palette from their Fall 2010 Berry Blooms Collection. Consisting of four gorgeous berry-inspired shades, I put together a look that screams romance. To see how to achieve this look,
The New York Color Berry Bloom Palette is just a suggestion, and you can use any eyeshadow shades you have that are similar in your collection. I have had a lot of interest from readers about this collection, however, and so if you’re looking to see what you can do with this palette specifically, this is a great tutorial for you.
Step One: Apply the light champagne shade into the inner corners of your eyes, and up to your brow bone.
Step Two: Apply the violet purple over your entire eyelid, up to your crease. Pat down the color well into the middle of your eyelids so the violet shade really stands out.
Step Three: Using a crease or fluffy brush, use the berry-fuchsia shade in windshield-wiper motions in your crease. Swipe your brush back and forth, blending out the color both down slightly into the violet shade, and up slightly onto your brow bone. This berry shade beautifully complements the violet purple, and really serves to make it stand out even more.
Step Four: Going back in with your crease brush, apply the darkest mauve plum shade to the other third of your eye. Pat down this darker shade, and use a fluffy blending brush in a circular motion to blend out. This dark mauve shade is just going to add definition to the outer corners of your eyes, and tie the entire look together. Apply the dark mauve shade to your lower lash line, and line your lower waterline (if desired). Curl your eyelashes and apply your favorite mascara.
For my lips, I used Rimmel’s “Amethyst Shimmer” lipstick, and layered Stila Lip Glaze in “Minty Mint” over top of it. This helps to lighten and brighten the berry wine lipstick shade, and give it a golden gleam.
For my cheeks, I used New York Color’s “Cherry Blossom” blush, also from the same collection. The finished result is a berry bloom inspired face that looks perfect for the cooler weather.
The New York Color Berry Blooms Collection is currently available at drugstores and Ulta stores nationwide, as part of a limited edition Fall 2010 Collection. The “Berry Bloom” palette is under $5, making it a fabulous value as well!
