Lookbook: Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips, “Frockstar,” Photographs & Swatches

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips were released earlier this year and created a flurry of talk around the beauty community. These nail polish strips are made from real nail polish and give you a perfect manicure that requires absolutely no drying time. Not only are they fast and convenient, but they last for up to ten days without chipping. I have personally bought many of the various shades and designs they offer, and I love the formula on this product. They are easy to apply with a little practice, and last for almost two whole weeks without any wear. Not only that, but the designs are incredibly unique, and often a conversation starter. To see photographs of one of my favorite designs they offer, “Frockstar,” read more…

Tutorial: Space “Galaxy” Inspired Manicure/Nails

I am a huge space-loving geek and proud of it. I have fond memories of my parents taking me to Kennedy Space Center in Florida when I was younger, and I still cherish those grainy photographs from the 1980′s. Since then, I have always been an avid reader and watcher of space developments, articles, and especially rocket launches. I decided to do space “galaxy” inspired nails, and I was happy with the way they turned out. The best part? They were really easy to do (no, really), and I will explain everything inside, read more…

Behold the beauty and power of Barracuda! Tracy Reese for Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Barracuda is a brand new, limited edition shade in this collection, and boasts a gorgeous blue creme color. I drove to five separate drugstores this morning on a great hunt for this nail color because it was sold out everywhere I went. Lookbook: Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips, “Girl Flower”

I have had so many requests to do a review and post on the Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips which have been out in drugstores nationwide now for almost a couple of months. I purchased Girl Flower because its totally my style and personality…the peace-loving hippie inspired print. Since this was my first time applying these, I wanted to apply them, and soak in all the details of the product, from how to apply them, tips and tricks, as well as my own personal review on them and how long they last. This post is going to essentially be photograph swatches of this particular print, and some quick thoughts, whereas next week I will feature a video tutorial on how to apply these, and get into greater detail after seeing how long these wear for. To see photographs and swatches, read more…

With Easter coming, I decided to do an Easter/Spring inspired manicure with pretty pastel colors and quirky colorful dots. Tutorial: Hello Kitty Nails

A couple of days ago, I decided to give myself a Hello Kitty manicure after receiving my Hello Kitty Stamping Plate that I purchased from eBay. For just a few dollars, you can purchase a plate that has Hello Kitty’s signature face on it, as well as six other usable designs on it. I have gotten many compliments on my nails since doing it, and the number one question is, “How did you do it?” Here, I will explain in detail how I achieved my Hello Kitty nails using just a few products, most of which you probably already own! read more…

Autumn Lookbook: Sally Hansen Lip Inflation Lip Gloss, “Sonic Plum”

Sally Hansen Lip Inflation Lip Gloss is a fantastic drugstore plumping lip gloss, and one I have used since it was first released a few years ago. I tend to get reactions to plumping lip glosses, and I need to be careful which ones I use, so I don’t end up with a red rash all around my mouth, resulting in a “punched in the mouth” look (true story). Sally Hansen Lip Inflation never irritates my lips or the skin around my mouth, and they recently started expanding their shade range. One of the new shades for Fall 2010 is “Sonic Plum,” a berry plum shade that looks gorgeous on your pucker, while also making your lips look fuller. To see more photographs and swatches, read more…

Review: Sally Hansen Lip Inflation Extreme

product14

Sally Hansen has a stellar line of products, from pedicure supplies, to nail polish, to makeup, to lip gloss. Their Lip Inflation lip gloss has been a favorite of mine for years, with plumping effects that look natural, and a variety of gorgeous, shimmering shades. In the drugstore recently, I saw that they had released a Lip Inflation Extreme, a more intense version of the original. Intrigued, I picked up the shade “Sheer Pink Berry,” and brought it home to test it out. Does Lip Inflation Extreme live up to my expectations for a Sally Hansen product? read more…

Lookbook: Sally Hansen ULTRA HD Collection

mainimage9

When Sally Hansen first came out with their initial HD Collection, I was skeptical about it being a gimmick, until I saw a swatch of someone wearing “Blu.” Last year, I ended up collecting every single polish from the regular HD Collection because while the colors were not overly unique, the formula had an extremely unique “glow” to it. The polishes really glow and shine on your nails unlike any other polish I own. When I saw the Sally Hansen Ultra HD Collection, and how unique the polish colors were this time around, I knew I had to snag it up. Driving to four different drugstores, and eventually digging through a stock box that was not out yet, I came home with this collection (Sorry, local Walgreens!). Lookbook: Tracy Reese for Sally Hansen Spring 2010, “Silver Lining”

mainimage7

On trend with the loud praises I have been singing for the Tracy Reese Sally Hansen Collection, this was one of the few nail polish colors left on the display, and so I snagged it up. Originally, I thought it would be more of a metallic, duo-chrome top coat, but this polish is actually quite opaque, and the swatches I am going to show you are only one coat. To see more swatches, read more…
