I recently purchased and reviewed the Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm in Pink Punch on here. I really, really enjoyed the product as not only a lip balm, but also as a product that puts down sheer but noticeable color. Since these lip balms cost less than $3, you know I had to go back for another one of them. After tweeting with Maybelline on Twitter, I decided to go with “Grape Vine,” a gorgeous, sheer plum colored lip balm. To see photographs and swatches, read more…

In September, during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City, we saw Maybelline makeup artists use clear Baby Lips Lip Balm on the eyelids of the models for a glossy, natural looking makeup look. Since seeing the product packaging during NYFW, I have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of these lip balms in my local drugstores. First of all, the packaging is incredible and unexpected for Maybelline. It has that loud, flirty, young packaging that catches your attention instantly. Second of all, not only do these lip balms come in clear, but they also come in various shades, giving off gorgeous, sheer color while also hydrating your lips. Maybelline’s “Scene on the Runway” Collection is limited edition for Fall 2011, and includes this lipstick, Must Have Mauve. It’s a beautiful milky mauve-purple shade, and I was curious to see how it looked outside of the tube and on my lips. I really love mauve and purple-toned shades for the colder months because not only are they super on-trend right now, but they can make your teeth look whiter and your smile look brighter. Lookbook Tutorial: Maybelline “Strut It Suede” EyeStudio Palette Makeup Look, Photographs & Tutorial
I previously photographed and swatched the new Maybelline limited edition EyeStudio palettes, showing the gorgeous pigmentation they put down. I already showed my makeup look using “Green With Fashion,” and I was excited to do a look using “Strut It Suede,” because I get a lot of requests for a neutral, wearable eye makeup look. What I love about this the most is that this is my “everyday” eye makeup look. I typically gravitate towards this neutral, toned-down smokey look using beige and browns, and I always swipe flesh-toned eyeliner onto my bottom water-line to wake my eyes up. I recently reviewed and swatched Maybelline’s brand new limited edition EyeStudio palette “Green With Fashion.” I had many requests to do a look using the palette, and I was more than happy to do so because the colors are absolutely breathtaking. Since this palette has two neutral shades and two green shades, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to place the teal in the crease with a neutral eyelid, or place the teal over the entire eyelid. Both would be stunning, but in the end, the bright teal shade was tugging at my heart strings and I decided to do a smokey teal-green eye. To see photographs and how to achieve this look, read more…

The trends at BCBG Max Azria for Spring 2012 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week this morning included a lot of color-blocking, tribal prints, and easy-going, loose styles. The clothes were absolutely stunning and flowed in a detailed, complex manner. Of course, as a beauty addict, I was watching for the makeup, hair, and nails. The makeup, done by Maybelline, was absolutely gorgeous with fresh, dewy skin, nude eyes, and very rosy cheeks. The nails and toes were also nude and done by OPI Nail Lacquer in Samoan Sand. The other Maybelline EyeStudio palette that I picked up which is from the Scene on the Runway Collection is Strut It Suede. I was instantly drawn to the neutral, coffee-like hues of this palette, especially since they are so wearable for every single day. If you missed my photographs and swatches of Green With Fashion, be sure to check those out, as well, which is also from this limited edition collection. To see photographs and swatches, read more…

I adore Maybelline’s EyeStudio eyeshadow palettes. If you need any proof, take a look back on some of the posts I’ve done on Maybelline within the past year, and you’ll see just how many palettes I own and love. When I found out that the Scene on the Runway Collection was coming out, and it was going to include some brand new, limited edition EyeStudio palettes, I knew I had to find them immediately! After completing what I affectionately call a “drugstore crawl” (you know, when you visit every drugstore in a twenty mile radius to find what you’re looking for), I finally came across the brand new limited edition palettes. You may remember Beauty Gala’s review of Maybelline’s “Blue Blowout” palette. I typically like to do a tutorial and look with each makeup palette that I swatch and rave about, not only to give you an idea of what you can do with the palette, but also so you can see exactly what the colors look like on the actual eye. Blue eyeshadow looks are incredible for our brown and hazel eyed beauties because they really make your eye color stand out. I am not usually one to wear blue eyeshadow because I don’t feel it best suits my eye color (blue-green), but I definitely enjoy playing around from time to time. Well, I did tell you I was going to collect all of the Maybelline EyeStudio Color Explosion Palettes, right? Here are the blues, with Blue Blowout, and it does not disappoint. I am not huge on blue eyeshadow on myself, but let me tell you, these shades are stunning. In fact, I am pretty sure this one is my favorite in terms of shade and color payoff.
