Maybelline “The Smokes” Eyeshadow Palette Swatches, Review, & Makeup Look

Maybelline “The Smokes” Eyeshadow Palette is a new palette of twelve eyeshadow shades that Maybelline has introduced into their line. What’s nice about these palettes is the amount of colors they contain, as we usually don’t see drugstore palettes contain more than 4 or 5 shades. This palette emulates the high end palettes you see in Sephora, where the colors and combinations are endless and right at your fingertips. I was definitely curious to try out the pigmentation and work with these. Though the palette is called “The Smokes,” there are actually quite a few lighter shades, which surprised me. I’ve got my full review, swatches, and an eye makeup look and tutorial for you inside! (more…)

Wet n Wild “Haute Hollywood” Eyeshadow Palette Look!

I decided to put my favorite Fall 2014 Wet n Wild Palette to the test, Haute Hollywood, by doing an everyday makeup look. Haute Hollywood is really the perfect palette of neutrals for every skin tone and I paired it up with a gorgeous Maybelline lipstick from the drugstore. This look shows you that you don’t necessarily have to have a huge budget to create a nice look. Full details inside, (more…)

I found the rest of the Maybelline Bleached Neons Collection finally and I bought the 3 items I wanted most: Peach Punch Color Whisper, Shimmering Sea Color Tattoo, and Sunwashed Sky Color Tattoo. Both of the Color Tattoo’s are limited edition to this collection, so I had to have them. I’ve got full swatches and my thoughts inside, (more…)

Maybelline “Bleached Neons” Summer 2014 Collection Color Elixirs, Swatches & Review

I found part of the Summer 2014 Maybelline Bleached Neons Collection and they are insanely gorgeous. These Color Elixirs are my favorite because they’re perfect bargain versions of the YSL Glossy Stains. I picked up 3 shades, I’m Blushing, Orange Aglow, and Luxe in Lilac. They’re the perfect shades for summer because they’re bright and sunny, but there is a softness and sheerness to them that makes them wearable. Full swatches inside, (more…)

Happy Spring! Sephora Moonshadow Baked Palette “In The Tropics,” Makeup Look & Swatches

Happy Spring Equinox! Today I have a gorgeous Spring 2014 release for you, the Sephora Moonshadow Baked Palette “In The Tropics.” It’s a gorgeous palette with ten baked eyeshadow shades in varying colors. Sephora really did a fantastic job of choosing colors for this palette because the shades remind me perfectly of a night in a tropical, exotic location underneath the moon. I decided to put together a spring look for you, as well, with lots of pastel shades that glimmer in the light. Come and enjoy the first official day of spring with me! (more…)

Holiday Makeup Look: Sparkling Gold Eye Makeup with Pink Glossy Lips!

I’ve been on a roll with holiday makeup looks lately. I don’t know what it is about this time of year, but I enjoy sitting down at my vanity after a long day and decompressing by playing with makeup. I decided to do a super lustrous gold sparkle look on the eyes with contoured cheekbones, pink blush, and glossy pink lips. It’s very feminine and this makeup will catch the light beautifully, sending sparkles in the way of anyone who is looking! I’m using a favorite product of mine for the eyes, LORAC 3D Lustre Drops, which are a revolutionary product that you drop onto the back of your hand and pat onto your eyelids for insanely beautiful sparkle. I’ve got the full look inside with all the products I used! (more…)

Holiday Makeup Look: Vampy Lips featuring MAC Cosmetics “Media” Lipstick

Since I’m going through all of my holiday makeup look ideas on here, I decided to include one of my favorite vampy lip colors, MAC Cosmetics Media Lipstick. I love MAC “Media” so much because it actually has tones of brown and plum in it, so it ends up being flattering on a lot of different skin tones. If you’re very fair skinned, fear not! These lip colors will work incredibly against your milky white skin tone. I know a lot of people are intimidated by vampy, sexy lipstick shades like this one, so I’m going to show you a look using it, and a full breakdown of all the products I used. (more…)

Maybelline Fall 2013 Runway Collection: “Autumn Dream” Eyeshadow Palette, Swatches & Makeup Look

I brought back my old tradition of “drugstore hopping” the other night, which is basically where I drive my husband crazy by visiting every drugstore in a ten mile radius to see what new releases they have. I finally found the Maybelline Fall 2013 Runway Collection which I had been on the prowl for. First of all, these Maybelline EyeStudio Eyeshadow Palettes and I go way back. From the very first month they were released years ago, I fell in love with how plush and pigmented they always are. I own almost every single palette in the permanent and limited edition collections and I think they are a home run when it comes to beauty bargain eyeshadow palettes. Autumn Dream is the palette that particularly caught my eye from the display because of the stunning jewel tones it has. (more…)

Maybelline Color Tattoo Pure Pigment, “Improper Copper,” Photographs, Review, & Look

I recently saw the display with the Maybelline Color Tattoo Pure Pigments and immediately my heart started beating faster and I wanted them all! I am a huge fan of the Color Tattoo cream eyeshadow pots, so I knew I would love the pigments. I decided to pick up one and test it first before I went buck wild. Today I have Improper Copper for you, which immediately caught my eye because I love wearing copper tones on my eyes. Copper tends to bring out my eye color and it still manages to be in the “neutral” family. I can wear it during the day and make it more dramatic for nighttime. Full swatches inside, as well as an eye makeup look using Improper Copper, (more…)

Natural Makeup: How To Achieve The “No Makeup” Makeup Look

My husband has been going through at-home training, so he was home today and we were able to go on a romantic little date downtown. We stopped to pick up our CSA share for the week, leisurely strolled the aisles of Whole Foods, and he even patiently waited for me to shop through Ulta! When I’m going out on an occasion like this, I like to do a “No Makeup” Makeup Look. Let me explain…men can’t always tell when you’re wearing makeup, so the point is to have the makeup be there but naturally enhance your features so it actually looks like you’re wearing very little. I give my eyes a very natural looking contour and glow on the eyelid, my cheeks are contoured with bronzer, and my lips get a naturally nude gloss. (more…)
