Apparently I bought this eyeshadow awhile ago, because I found it laying in a Sephora bag in my home office. It was a pleasant surprise though because this shade is a gorgeous duo-chrome. Urban Decay Solstice Eyeshadow is part of their Moondust shades and it’s a mauve-pink shade with a strong blue reflect to it. I did a quick makeup look using it inside!
Believe it or not, I only used Urban Decay Solstice for this makeup look. One of the fabulous things about duo-chrome eyeshadow shades is that you can pat them on to get the reflect effect, or you can blend it out to get the base shade. I applied the color over my entire eyelid, into my crease and socket, and along my lower lash-line. In my socket only, I used a fluffy blending brush to work the color back and forth until it was mostly the base shade showing. It leaves behind a gorgeous mauve shade in your crease. On my eyelid and lower lash-line, I made sure to wet my brush and pat it on, which is what keeps that gorgeous blue flash to the product.
I went all out with this look by applied black eyeliner to my lower water-line and tight-lining my upper lashes. I popped some falsies on for extra drama, but you can just curl your lashes and apply mascara for everyday wear.
For the lips I used my new favorite, Maybelline’s Sin-a-mon Lipstick. It’s inexpensive and available at the drugstore and such a great natural shade. I’ve been wearing it daily lately!
Duo-chrome eyeshadow shades are really fun to wear because depending on the lighting and angle, it can look like two completely different shades. This one is shimmery and full of sparkle. The blue flash really stands out against the mauve base.
You can find Urban Decay Solstice Eyeshadow at Sephora and Ulta stores nationwide as well as online here.
