MAC Cosmetics Très Cheek Collection, “Modern Mandarin” Blush, Photographs & Swatches

All hail the glorious shade of tangerine this season! Tangerine, mandarin, coral, and every other shade of orange you can imagine is everywhere this spring and summer. The MAC Cosmetics Très Cheek Collection is a limited edition collection of six blushes, with Modern Mandarin being one of them. I was instantly attracted to this shade the most because I seem to have my eye on everything coral and tangerine lately, and also because it’s very unique to my makeup collection. This shade is so insanely vibrant and pigmented that it can be worn boldly or applied lightly for a beautiful “just-got-back-from-running” flush. To see photographs and cheek swatches, read more…

MAC Sheen Supreme Lipstick, “Insanely It,” Photographs & Swatches

MAC introduced Sheen Supreme Lipsticks recently, and I have to say, these are pretty amazing. They are much softer and creamier than your typical lipstick and impart a nice sheen to your lips. It’s sort of somewhere between a lipstick and a lip gloss, and they actually remind me a lot of the Revlon Lip Butters. I chose to purchase Insanely It after seeing it on Natalie’s Beauty Blog. This shade is described as a “bright watermelon,” and it is incredibly gorgeous. To see photographs and swatches, read more…

Lookbook: MAC Cosmetics Viva Glam Nicki Minaj Lipstick, Photographs & Swatches

I love, love, LOVE MAC Cosmetics Viva Glam lipsticks. They are always inspired by celebrities, and 100% of the proceeds goes to the MAC AIDS Fund. You can’t argue with that! When I received the e-mail from MAC that contained a special code to pre-order the Nicki Minaj Viva Glam lipstick, I was really excited. The shade of pink is so bright and fresh and so flattering! 2012 Lookbook: Iris Apfel for MAC Cosmetics, “Party Parrot” Lipstick, Photographs & Swatches

MAC Cosmetics has released a collection inspired by Iris Apfel, who is known for interior design and quirky, bright fashion statements. After seeing the lipsticks from this collection swatched on a beauty blog, I knew I had to have “Party Parrot.” I don’t have anything quite like it in my collection, and even the photographs make it hard to capture the essence of just how bright and beautiful this color is. I have a lot of blue-based bright pink lipsticks (think: Nicki Minaj’s signature lips), but none that are red-based pinks, and certainly none that are so bright that they are almost neon. This color somehow manages to be extremely flattering, and really brings out your eye color. It’s safe to say that this is one of my favorite lipsticks that I have purchased in many months. Autumn 2011 Lookbook: MAC Cosmetics Mattene Lipstick, “Deliciously Forbidden,” Photographs & Swatches

MAC Cosmetics recently released a new range of lip colors called Mattene Lipstick which offer a semi-matte finish and claim to be completely non-drying and non-flaking. I absolutely love matte and semi-matte lipstick but I tend to shy away from them because they end up drying out my lips, flaking off, or settling into lines. I was pretty impressed with how nice this lipstick felt when I applied it, and it had great staying power. To see photographs and swatches of the gorgeous berry shade Deliciously Forbidden, read more…

Face of the Day Lookbook: MAC “Jealousy Wakes,” Eyeshadow, MAC “My Paradise” Cheek Powder, & MAC “Evolution Revolution” Lipglass

I had several people ask to see what MAC “My Paradise” Cheek Powder looks like on my actual cheeks against my complexion, so rather than just swatch it for a post, I decided to wear it today along with my new MAC Bloggers’ Obsession goodies. This was just a look for going out during the day on a Saturday to lunch with my husband, and then shopping. I adore the way peach cheeks and lips look with green eyeshadow so I decided to pair Jealousy Wakes with Evolution Revolution lipglass from the Bloggers’ Obsession Collection and My Paradise cheek powder from Surf, Baby! read more…

Lookbook: MAC Bloggers’ Obsession Collection Eyeshadows, “Hocus Pocus,” “Jealousy Wakes,” Photographs & Swatches

MAC Cosmetics Bloggers’ Obsession Collection is a limited edition collection inspired and created by beauty bloggers. Nine beauty bloggers were invited by MAC to their labs to create either an eyeshadow or a lipglass for MAC Cosmetics. I decided to purchase two out of the four eyeshadows because they were the ones that looked prettiest via swatches, and also ones I will most likely wear the most. Lookbook: MAC Cosmetics My Paradise Cheek Powder, Surf, Baby! Collection, Photographs & Swatches

For those of you who follow me on Twitter, you may have heard how disappointed I was when I found out how quickly the My Paradise Cheek Powder from the MAC Surf Baby Collection sold out. The first day it was released, it was gone within an hour, and when they restocked a week later, it was gone again in an even shorter amount of time. My in-laws were visiting over Memorial Day weekend, and I decided to hit up my local MAC counter by chance. When I mentioned to the employee that everything I wanted was sold out online, she said, “I actually have two of those cheek powders left.” At this point, I may or may not have shrieked in the middle of a department store. Of course, I scooped one up with a goofy look of success on my face as she rang my purchase up at the counter. Long story short: This cheek powder is not only gorgeous, but it is also in high demand and hard to find. To see photographs and swatches, read more…
