The Metropolitan Museum’s annual Costume Institute Gala was held last night, and it is the perfect runway for stars to show up in their best. This, of course, means tons of inspiration for hair, makeup, and fashion. It’s so fun to see the dazzling ball gowns, the dolled-up faces, and who tries new trends or stays classic. Last night there were a ton of stars rocking a vampy, dark red lip, and it was full on glamour. Dianna Agron, the gorgeous beauty from Glee, was a vision in a bright green gown, and beautiful metallic eye makeup. She is always someone I look forward to seeing on any red carpet because she always has really great makeup and isn’t afraid to try new things. I recreated this look because it’s the perfect makeup for wearing out on the town or for a big event. It’s sultry, it’s smokey, and it’s has super shine power. To see how I achieved Dianna Agron’s Met Gala makeup, (more…)
One of my favorite ways to switch my makeup up for the cooler weather is to do smokey eyes in unexpected colors. Most smokey eyes have typical shades of gray and black, or even brown. When you do a smokey eye in an unexpected color, such as purple, or green, it really makes your eye color pop, and adds an extra sexiness to the overall effect. One of my favorite Bare Escentuals eyeshadow shades ever is “Black Emerald,” which is a Bare Minerals Liner Shadow, meaning it can be used as an eyeliner or an eyeshadow. The pigment is super soft, rich in color, and has a gleam like none other. To see more photographs and swatches, (more…)

I have yet to meet a Bare Escentuals Buxom product that I don’t like. The line is innovative, and has the best of both worlds: the natural aspect of Bare Escentuals, and an edgy, fun aspect in their colors and products. Buxom Stay-There Cream Eyeshadows are a brand-new release, and consist of ten long-wearing, crease resistant shades, all named after dog breeds. I am always extremely wary of cream shadows because quite frankly, almost all of them crease, even with a base, and end up looking like a hot mess. Before I splurged on more than one of these, I wanted to test out the formula and application. To see what I thought of “Black Lab,” (more…)
Bare Escentuals BareMinerals Flawless Definition Mascara has been around for awhile, but Bare Escentuals just released the brand new Flawless Definition Volumizing Mascara. The mascara wand is thicker and more bulbous in this version, and the results are flawless. With a recent Sephora order, I got a deluxe sample of this brand new product, and color me impressed, I have a massive crush on this new mascara! Wait until you look inside to see the results… (more…)

One of the most requested and popular looks among women is a natural but glamorous makeup look. A sexy look that doesn’t appear too heavy or dramatic, yet still plays up your features. This is a look that is perfect for a date, a night out on the town, or a special event. When I received the request for this look from Mandy Buchanan on Twitter, I automatically thought of the queen of the natural-glam makeup look: Angelina Jolie.
