With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, I can’t help but get a little sappy and cheesy over all things that have hearts or pink in them. I am a huge fan of the original Physician’s Formula Happy Booster Bronzer that was released in 2011, and now they are back with a super cute modern version of it. The Physician’s Formula Happy Booster Illuminating Bronzing Veil is meant to add a soft glow to your face (think: candlelight). Instead of the product being pressed into the packaging, there are loose hearts inside with multi-colored highlighters and bronzers. I can’t get over how pretty and adorable this product is! Just looking at it is a mood booster for me. Inside I’ve got plenty more cuteness for you,
Bronzing veil is such a diverse product to have in your makeup arsenal. It can be applied over your entire face to warm up your complexion or just as a highlight to your brow-bones and cheekbones. The shade I’m swatching is “Light Bronzer.” I love that they went with loose product this year because a lot of high-end makeup brands are creating bronzing veil’s and highlighters with loose beads that you dip your brush into. It’s a great way to get a unique mix of product onto your brush, and the product literally will last you forever.
The packaging is incredibly beautiful. It is metallic hot pink and allows the loose hearts to peek through. Physician’s Formula claims that their unique Happy Boost Blend contains Euphoryl and natural plant extracts which have been shown to promote a feeling of happiness by mimicking the effect of Endorphins and helping protect the skin from environmental stress. The scent of the product is also amazing. It’s not too strong and it doesn’t smell synthetic at all. It smells of sweet violets in a bouquet! I’m not entirely sure about the science behind the Happy Boost Blend, but the product and the scent alone are enough to make me feel happy.
It comes with a small, fan-shaped brush as well as a hot pink powder puff for application, but I recommend using a makeup brush or even just your fingers for precise application. All of the hearts inside of the product are different shades, including bronze, gold, and pearl, which helps add a warm luminosity to your complexion.
You can even take the hearts out individually! I just love how stunning they are when the light hits them.
You can see above that this product adds a really warm glow to my skin when applied. I consider my skin tone to be olive light-medium to medium (in the spring/summer), so this particular color is only going to give me a highlighted effect. If your skin is lighter than mine, this will actually give your skin color and give you a bronzed effect. I would use this product along my upper cheekbones, above my lips on my cupid’s bow, in the center of my lips on top of lipstick, on my brow-bone, down the center of my nose, in the inner corners of my eyes, and on my decollete.
Overall: It’s a really fun, beautiful, unique drugstore product that will put a smile on your face. It smells wonderful and it’s definitely a conversation-starting makeup piece. The loose hearts allow you to pick up the perfect amount of product so you’re not over-applying.

I know this is going to sound silly but they look like little cat or dog treats!
Oh my gosh, they do! 😀
