Spring 2011 Lookbook: Physician’s Formula Happy Booster Bronzer

Physician’s Formula Happy Booster Bronzer is such a fun, gorgeous powder product! Everywhere I go, these bronzers and powders are always sold out on the shelves. I finally got my hands on the bronzer, though they also have the Happy Booster products in face powders and blush. These products are infused with their “Happy Boost Blend,” featuring Happy Skin and Euphoryl, natural plant extracts which have been shown to promote a feeling of happiness by mimicking the effect of endorphins and helping protect the skin from environmental stress. Want to see a full review, photographs, and swatches?

Happy Booster Bronzer comes in a hot pink metallic compact with adorable hearts that have different shades of bronzer, as well as a pink heart for extra shimmer and highlight. These Happy Booster products are supposed to smell like violet, and they do indeed smell delicious. The scent is not super strong, and you aren’t going to smell the product on your face…but you can smell a slightly sweet, flowery smell when you actually put your nose up to the open compact. I believe this is the “Light Bronzer” shade, as I typically have good color to my complexion and just want an extra boost of “sun” to the areas where light hits my face.

The compact also opens up to a compartment underneath that contains a hot pink duo-toned brush. The brush is soft and cute, but unless it was all I had on me, or I was in a pinch, I probably wouldn’t use the brush to apply this product. So, the million dollar question is…

Did this bronzer boost my happiness and mood?

Yes and no. The packaging is beautiful, and the hearts on the bronzer are for sure adorable and make you feel happy. Naturally, when the human eye sees something visually pleasing, your brain releases feel-good chemicals like endorphins. As a beauty addict, I think whenever I see an exquisite or unique beauty item, whether it be packaging or the actual product, it gives me a bit of a boost. This also applies really to anything you purchase, in my opinion. The scent is definitely nice, and not at all overwhelming or strong. The pink heart in the bronzer helps give you a little boost of color, and the bronzer isn’t too shimmery, which is a big deal breaker for me with bronzers.

The bronzer itself is a great option if you’re looking for a decent bronzer. The powder is super velvety soft and smooth, and the ingredients will not break you out or irritate your skin. Physician’s Formula has a fantastic range of products, and they are one of my favorite overall drugstore brands. This will look really pretty when swept along your cheekbones, bridge of your nose, and around your forehead. It will just brighten up your face, and make it look like you’ve got a bit of color. I also like that you get various tones within the bronzer so it looks more natural in general when applied, rather than just being one shade of bronzer.

Physician’s Formula Happy Booster Bronzer comes in “Light” and regular “Bronzer.” It also is available in blush and regular face powder shades. You can browse and purchase Physician’s Formula products at drugstores nationwide. You can also visit the Physician’s Formula Happy Booster website page.

For some reason, the way you take your photographs is very appealing. I’ve looked at dozens of pictures of this bronzer, but yours are the ones that make me want to buy it. Great job! Thank you!
