Have you ever woken up with a sore throat and tried to wish it away throughout the day only to have it get worse? Well, that was my day yesterday, and today I am just a miserable ball of sickness, so I am going to try to keep this post short and sweet. Yesterday I swatched the new eyeshadow palettes from Milani Cosmetics, including Impressionist which is chock full of pastel deliciousness. I personally love pastels on everything…clothes, jewelry, makeup, you name it. Not only do I love it, but it happens to be a massive trend this spring and summer along with everything neon. With Easter Sunday approaching, I wanted to use this new palette to do a cotton-candy pastel eye look that you can recreate yourself, or you can easily swap it out with different pastel shades. How To Achieve This Look:
- Grab three pastel eyeshadow shades of your choice, with two of them being in the same color family so that you can blend them together seamlessly. In my particular case, I used the Milani “Impressionist” Palette and I chose the pastel blue, pastel purple, and pastel pink, with the purple and pink being two complementary colors that will blend into each other beautifully.
- Apply the contrasting shade to the inner corners of your eyes. Since the blue is creating a dramatic contrast to the other two shades, I applied this in the corners of my eyes. A little tip when working with pastels: if you use a white eyeshadow primer or a white eyeshadow as a base, the pastel shades will stand out even more.
- Apply the purple and pink to your eyelid, blending them on top of one another so there are no harsh lines. I also lined my bottom lash line with these two shades to match my eyelid.
- Apply the contrasting shade to the outer crease and brow-bone of your eye. This creates another contrast on the outer portion of your eye and really looks gorgeous. Make sure to blend this shade well. The key is to build this color up and blend it out well so it looks seamless. These Milani eyeshadows blend beautifully!
- Apply black liquid or gel eyeliner to your upper lash line with a cat-eye flick at the end. I love the drama of the black liner because it contrasts with the candy-sweet shades of the eye and brings everything out even more. Then, I applied mascara to the top and bottom lashes.
