Milani Cosmetics Powder Eyeshadow Palettes are back! I am so excited for this release because last summer Milani released the first palette in this collection, “Paint,” and I reviewed it here on Beauty Gala. Impressionist and Abstract are the two newest additions to the family of the eyeshadow palettes that not only look aesthetically really cool, but also put down beautiful color. Those of you who love neutral eyeshadow shades and don’t have the budget for the more expensive Urban Decay Naked Palettes will find the nude palette especially pleasing. Pastel enthusiasts will absolutely adore the candy-sweet colors of the spring-inspired palette. To see photographs and swatches,
Each eyeshadow is super soft and had great pigmentation. The only shade that underperformed is the one in the middle (also in the middle of the circle of swatches) which is very light and barely noticeable. It would be best suited for a brow-bone shade, or you could use it to blend other colors together.
Aren’t they gorgeous? I was extremely pleased with the performance of this palette. Milani is complete genius for creating this palette because it’s affordable and easily accessible at the drugstore, but still gives you an array of nude shades. I predict that this palette is going to be a hot ticket item this spring and summer, so if you spot it, definitely grab it up.
This palette is actually quite similar to the first palette that Milani released called “Paint,” which I photographed and swatched on Beauty Gala in July 2011, except these shades are very pastel and the other shades are more true to the rainbow.
Like I said, staring at the swatches of this pastel palette conjures up the best memories of my childhood, running around in my Easter dresses and collecting Easter eggs outside. I intend to wear this palette out a lot this spring and summer because not only do I adore pastel eyeshadow, but it can be really flattering on just about anyone.
Overall: Depending on your makeup preferences, you will want to own at least one of these eyeshadow palettes. If you like neutrals and pastels like I do, you’ll want to try both! They are both available at the drugstore for a limited time and are a total beauty bargain.
