Happy Friday everyone! It feels like it has been a long week over here, but I am definitely glad it’s the weekend and time to relax again. I decided to pull out some drugstore products to create an eye look because there are so many great drugstore available options out there! If your budget doesn’t call for high-end makeup you can still purchase products with great pigmentation and create gorgeous looks. This look, Violet Sunset, is inspired by my favorite color of all-time…purple, and of course the sky during a sunset, when it takes on various shades of bronze, orange, and coral. Two unsuspecting colors complement each other very well by blending seamlessly into each other, and they each make the other stand out. To see how to achieve this look, the products I used, and more pictures,
- First, I applied a bronze-gold shade into the crease of my eye. I pulled out this L’oreal HIP Eyeshadow Pigment in “Progressive.” I honestly can’t remember how long ago I got this pigment, but I absolutely adore this product. The pigmentation is incredibly rich, and just a dab of the product on your brush will pack down serious color. I love using this product for my crease area because it goes with a lot of different colors. Make sure to blend this upward slightly as well with your blending brush.
- Apply a sparkling violet shade over your entire eyelid. I used Revlon’s Diamond Lust Eyeshadow in “Plum Galaxy.” I believe these are still available, and I purchased a few shades from this collection, including the blue and charcoal gray. They all have a stunning sparkle to them! I patted this over my entire eyelid being sure to blend it into the crease as well.
- Apply a black eyeliner to your lower lash line and smoke it out slightly. Also curl your lashes and apply plenty of black mascara. The end result is really simple but still has a dramatic sparkle and smokiness to it. It’s also nice because it’s different than your typical smokey eye. The bronze really adds a gorgeous effect.
This is a look that will go well with every single eye color. If you want to make it your own, you can swap out the purple eyelid color with your favorite eyeshadow color.
May you all have a wonderful weekend! It’s already feeling like summer here in South Carolina with temperatures in the high 80’s and low 90’s every single day. I totally have spring fever and can’t get enough of being outside, wearing maxi dresses, and planting my garden.
