The Sephora + PANTONE Cooling Marsala Multi Stick is a brand new product from the “Color of the Year” Collection at Sephora. Every year, PANTONE chooses a new shade that is considered to be the “it” color and this year it’s marsala. I was actually pretty stoked about marsala being the color they chose because I feel that it works with a range of skin tones and hair colors. For the very fair to light skinned, this shade brings out your milky skin tone and can bring warmth. For those with medium to dark skin, this is a great shade that will enhance your skin tone by adding a pop of soft, highlighted color. This product has caffeine and coconut oil in it to help wake up your skin and de-puff area’s, as well as soothe dry or sensitive skin. If you’ve ever seen the NARS’ The Multiple sticks, this is pretty much the exact same idea, except this one has a unique cooling effect when applied. It actually feels like you are rubbing refreshing aloe on your skin after a hot summer day! It’s a versatile product that you can use on the cheeks, eyes, and lips. I’ve got a simple, fresh-faced look inside that shows a monotone look using this Marsala Multi Stick, so don’t miss it…

The Sephora + PANTONE Cooling Marsala Multi Stick is housed in a beautiful metallic gold case that looks like a lipstick (except it’s thicker). It rolls up from the bottom exactly like a lipstick as well. The product itself can easily slide into your makeup bag or handbag for on-the-go use.
The actual shade itself is a very natural looking, luminous Marsala shade. The color is great for so many skin tones! You can dip a brush into the product or use your fingers to apply it, or just use the stick and apply it directly to your face. I was curious how the shade would look once I actually swatched it…
On the left, you see a sheer swipe of the product and on the right, you can see what it looks like if you layered it on. I love this shade so much. It’s got such a dewy illumination to it, but it’s extremely natural looking and not all-up-in-your-face glitter. It’s sophisticated shimmer. I can see this shade working on every skin tone and hair color as well. I personally have red hair right now and this tone brings out the warmth in my red hair. The pigmentation is wonderful and it blends easily so that it looks natural.
One of the coolest features of the product is the cooling aspect. It actually feels cold to the touch when you apply it to your skin. It feels wonderful, especially if you’re tired and your face and skin need a pick-me-up. Where it really excels, is on the eyelids as an eyeshadow, because the caffeine inside the product can help to get rid of any puffiness. The coconut oil makes this product feel really soft and moisturizing, and if you’ve got sensitive skin you’re not going to have issues with this irritating your skin because it feels so soothing.
Using the Sephora + PANTONE Cooling Marsala Multi Stick, I did a really quick, simple 5 minute makeup look. The look is very “Marsala Monotone,” meaning I used marsala everywhere, including the eyes, cheeks, and lips. As a cheek color, it really gives you the perfect flushed look with a hint of shimmer (no highlighter required!). As a lip color, it comes off as very neutral and natural, but still enhances your lip tone. I used an eyeshadow brush to apply it lightly to my eyelids, as well, for a pop of color.
Overall, I love this product. It’s versatile and multi-tasks by providing you with a product for your eyes, cheeks, and lips in one. The color is unique and flattering on many different skin tones. The cooling effect feels so refreshing, especially in the morning after waking up. The stick itself feels really hydrating to the skin and didn’t break me out at all.
The Sephora + PANTONE Cooling Marsala Stick is available at Sephora stores nationwide, as well as online at Sephora here. It retails for $25.00USD.
