Are you ready for another amazing “Color of the Year” product? I hope so, because this is the best one yet. The Sephora + PANTONE Facets of Marsala Eye Palette is a travel-size eyeshadow palette filled with 24 shades of various finishes and tones. It’s an absolutely brilliant palette and definitely one of, if not the best palettes that Sephora + PANTONE have collaborated on so far. Inside is a range of marsala shades, staying true to the 2015 Color of the Year, but there’s also gorgeous neutral tones that are both matte and shimmers, as well as some jewel-toned greens and a gorgeous blue. I’ve got full swatches and my thoughts inside!

The 2015 PANTONE Color of the Year is marsala, but if you’ve been reading my blog you probably already know that. I am obsessed with this shade because it’s flattering on so many skin tones and really brings warmth to the skin and face, even if you feel paler than Casper this time of year.
The Sephora + PANTONE Facets of Marsala Eye Palette is housed in a reflective (hi!) metallic palette that comes in a travel-size. I was pleasantly surprised at how compact the packaging was. I have some eyeshadow palettes in my collection that I adore, but I simply won’t travel with them or bring them with me on vacation because they’re thick and bulky. This palette is about the length and width of your entire hand, maybe just slightly larger, and it’s thin for easy toting.
Inside of this palette, there are 4 different finishes: matte, pearl, shimmer, and glitter.
I was incredibly excited to dip my fingers into this palette and see how the formula and pigmentation was. Just by looks alone, the shades in this palette are stunning. The palette provides a wide array of finishes and shades for you to blend and play with. All swatches are without any primer whatsoever!
SWATCHES:
FIRST ROW: You can see the classic marsala shades in this row and while they look similar to each other, one is darker and has shimmer in it. Every single one of these shades was pigmented and swiped well on the back of my hand. Even the matte shades were very opaque and full of color.
SECOND ROW: This row was, once again, full of pigment and rich in color. The formula so far is impeccable and those two marsala shades in the middle are absolutely breathtaking.
THIRD ROW: I love this row because we start to see a deviation from the typical marsala shade. There are some metallic golds and a metallic silver, a matte flesh toned shade, a rusty matte brown, and a gorgeous glittery dark blue. The only shade that was slightly problematic was the blue glitter at the end. I can see it being far more pigmented when used with a wet brush or applied over a dark base. Other than that, this row was once again full of opaque, rich color.
FOURTH ROW: This row is going to please the neutral and smokey eyeshadow lovers. Filled with matte, shimmer, and glitter, it has something for everyone. I love that glitter shade second from the left and the duo-chrome brown-green shade second from last. No pigmentation or formula problems at all in this row!
Overall, I’ve been using the Sephora + PANTONE Facets of Marsala Eye Palette non-stop. I think it houses so many different finishes and shades that it really works for everyone. It is definitely primarily a warm-toned palette, but there are some cool-toned shades in there as well. The size of the palette itself is compact enough for travel and every color is full of pigmentation. The marsala tones in this palette really vary, as well, giving you a good choice of what “type” of marsala shade you prefer to wear, from dark burgundy marsala to rusty brown marsala.
The Sephora + PANTONE Facets of Marsala Multi Finish Eye Palette is limited edition and sold at Sephora stores nationwide, as well as online at Sephora. Each palette retails for $39.00USD. I’ve got an eye makeup look and tutorial coming up right after this post using this palette, so stay tuned!
