Some people are blessed with naturally long, thick lashes that light up their whole face – I am not one of them. I am constantly on the hunt for products that will beef up my lashes without having to visit a dermatologist, or burn a hole through my wallet. Urban Decay Eyelash Primer Potion is similar to the primers on the market you will find for your face and for your eyeshadow, only this product is meant specifically for your eyelashes: to plump, thicken, and lengthen with fibers. Lashes are fortified with small fibers that cling to every eyelash, resulting in a false eyelash look, without the hassle of the glue. Comparison
Urban Decay Eyelash Primer Potion
Urban Decay Eyelash Primer Potion is used exactly like a mascara, except it claims to plump up eyelashes with tiny fibers that cling to every single lash. The result is thicker, stronger, longer, and more dramatic lashes. The vegan formula contains silk protein, panthenol, and hydrolyzed wheat proteins to fortify and condition your eyelashes with every sweep.
Urban Decay Eyelash Primer Potion has an extremely simplistic approach to it’s application. You simply sweep the product onto your eyelashes as you would a regular mascara. The bottle and the wand look exactly like a regular mascara, only the formula is white, with tiny fibers in it. Once sweeping across your eyelashes, you will notice it looks like mascara, as well, only your lashes are also white, and noticeably thicker, longer, and more voluminous in general.
The idea behind this product is that it is a way to prepare your eyelashes for mascara. The concept has a healthy benefit for your eyelashes: strengthening your eyelashes with great-for-you proteins, which are often needed since mascara application and removal can reek havoc on your eyelash health. Those who are conscious of what cosmetic products they put on their face will also be pleased to know that this product is 100% vegan, and paraben free. This a product I can get behind for the sheer fact that it has natural ingredients, and looks to repair your lashes, instead of destroy them further.
I personally noticed that it makes my eyelashes look far more voluminous when I am wearing it, versus when I am just wearing plain mascara. While it did lengthen my lashes, I didn’t feel like this product would satisfy those who seek out to really lengthen their lashes to the sky. I felt the most dramatic end result was plumper, fatter, thicker looking lashes.
This product does add an extra step to your makeup routine, and can feel overwhelming for those on the run, or in a rush, since you must let it dry before applying your regular mascara. I typically apply this product if I am leisurely applying my makeup, or if I am getting ready for a special event. For on the go beauties, it may be more beneficial for you to use an all in one product, a la volumizing mascara.
When applying this product, you definitely want to be careful not to overdo the application, especially if your eyelashes are extremely brittle and short. You can be too heavy handed with this product, resulting in clumpy, weighed down lashes that droop. I am someone who has short, stubby lashes, so I make sure to use no more than one good coat.
Bottom line: This product is great for your eyelash health, and thickens lashes up before applying your favorite mascara. The result is noticeably more voluminous eyelashes, though not necessarily lengthening your lashes sky high. This product adds an extra step to your eye makeup routine, so it’s best used for those who can block out time to apply their makeup. Over-application of this product can result in weighed down, drooping lashes, so be sure to apply the correct amount for your lash type.

I’d definitely give this a shot! I’m not exactly blessed with amazing lashes either, and I’m always looking for products that’ll at least give me the illusion of having beautiful lashes.
My big 7 oh birthday tomorrow, 28.12.10 – and I’ve always wanted thicker lashes – I’d love to try your product – I’m in market research, so I’m right up your alley for this !!
