OPI has a “Designer Series,” collection which gets updated for various seasons usually with one or two new shades. Shopping at my local Ulta, I saw a shelf with most of the collection out, and was instantly drawn to the gorgeous shimmer and holographic colors these polishes contained. All of the Designer Series polishes have metallic silver tops to differentiate them from regular OPI nail colors. While I wanted to buy every single shade that my Ulta had of the DS Collection, they were out of stock in almost every color, so I scooped up the colors they did have. To see nail swatches,

OPI "DS Illuminate"
- OPI “DS Illuminate” is a gorgeous tawny brown that has a holographic reflect to it. If you look towards the center of the bottle in the picture above, towards the bottom you can see a reflection of sea-foam green. This polish is very unique, as it is holographic, but it also has a green duo-chrome effect to it. The holographic effect on this polish is quite intense, and extremely noticeable in sunlight and under bright lights indoors.

OPI "DS Jewel"
- OPI “DS Jewel” is a burgundy brown with a pink reflect and flecks of gold shimmer in it. I was actually quite disappointed by this color, as I felt it looked completely different on my nails than how it looked in the bottle. The formula on this shade was also very sheer, and required four coats to look this opaque. It streaked quite a bit, and was a bit of a nightmare to work with. Overall, I would skip this shade if I had to go back to my purchasing decision.

OPI "DS Extravagance"
- OPI “DS Extravagance” is the most amazing purple/fuchsia holographic polish. The holographic sheen just makes the purple glow from within, and it shines beautifully indoors, and out. Again, I love that the holographic portion of the color is so intense. It’s a great alternative to glitter nail polish…playful, but still grown up! This one is my favorite of the colors I bought.

OPI "DS Mystery"
- OPI “DS Mystery” has a dark purple jelly base that is flecked with fine gold glimmer. This shade was a hidden gem, as I was not expecting it to be as pretty as it is. In the bottle, this shade looked black or dark brown to me, but on my nails it was a deep purple. The fine gold shimmer shows up wonderfully over the intensity of the purple, because there is so much of it in the nail polish. I was very pleased with this color.
