Neutrogena Micromist Airbrush Sunless Tan is an ultra-light, fine mist that goes on evenly and sprays at any angle for an all-over flawless, sunless tan. The product is oil and alcohol free, non-comedogenic, so it won’t clog pores, and dries in less than five minutes.

Neutrogena Micromist Airbrush Sunless Tan comes in a spray can that looks and sprays similar to hairspray. The idea is that it is unnecessary to use your hands in order to apply the tanner, which prevents orange or discolored hands. It also makes application much more efficient by taking less time, and allowing you to hold the bottle at any angle in order to apply the product. This makes it easy to reach areas such as your back, without having to worry about streaking.

This formula is extremely fine and feels light as air on the skin as it states. The formula evaporates quickly, and dried in less than sixty seconds, tops. This is great for those with less time, and prevents sunless tanners from staining any of their clothing by accident.

Neutrogena Micromist Airbrush Sunless Tan has a typical sunless product odor to it. It can be a bit on the strong side and linger until you allow the product to set, in which you can then shower. Unfortunately, unpleasant odor seems to be a side effect of almost every sunless tanner on the market, and I have only run across a couple that have no smell to them. Applying the product before bed is the best method if you are self-conscious about the smell of the product.

This product claims to work in two to four hours, however, it took closer to eight hours for me to see the maximum result of color. Therefore, if you are on a tight schedule for a specific event, you will need to give yourself enough time for the product to darken your skin.

This product does apply completely clear, and looks like a fine mist of water going onto your skin. Some people prefer their sunless tanners to have color to them so they can see where they have and have not applied the product. I don’t feel this is a drawback for this particular product because of the airbrush application. As long as you are spraying in even strokes, six to eight inches from your skin, it is very difficult to miss areas of your body, and streak.

Bottom line: This is a great drugstore sunless tanner that has an innovative form of application. The airbrush allows you to spray from all angles, for quick, easy application. Be sure to exfoliate, as always, before using any sunless tanner, so that you do not blotch or streak. The formula will not turn you orange, or deepen to an unnatural finish. This sunless tanner is customizable by building as you please. The odor is typical of a tanning product, and can be quite strong.
