There is a buzz in the beauty blogosphere that Milani HD Advanced Concealer is a drugstore dupe for Yves Saint Laurent’s Touche Éclat. Touche Éclat just happens to be one of my top ten all-time favorite products ever, so when I purchased this product, I eagerly anticipated comparing and contrasting these two products on Beauty Gala…

The ultimate showdown

Making sure to use it on a day when I look REALLY tired
Milani HD Advanced Concealer
Milani HD Advanced Concealer is a click pen that covers dark circles, blemishes, and imperfections with a brightening formula that leaves a natural, luminous finish.
Milani Advanced HD Concealer is so similar to Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat, that even with a quick glance at the product packaging, you may confuse the two. Both are packaged in the same gold metallic click pen, and Milani gives YSL a run for its money. The Milani packaging gives a peek at the shade inside the click pen, and is slightly longer than the YSL click pen. The click pen looks sleek, chic, and much more expensive than it cost.
Milani Advanced HD Concealer comes in four different shades (as Touche Éclat does): Light, Medium, Medium Beige, and Medium Honey. The product is intended for use on the same areas of the face as Touche Éclat, as well: brow bones, temples, the sides of your nose, your cupid’s bow, and underneath your eyes. The product is light, and has a luminous glow when you apply it to your skin. The main difference between Milani Advanced HD Concealer and YSL Touche Éclat is that Milani markets theirs as a concealer, whereas YSL markets theirs as an illuminator/highlighter. Milani Advanced HD Concealer does a fantastic job at lighting up dark shadows on your skin, just like Touche Éclat, but also contains some coverage to conceal blemishes and imperfections.
One of the most important differences in this product to most consumers is price. YSL Touche Éclat costs $40 for 0.1 fl oz, and is available only at Sephora and high end retailers. Milani Advanced HD Concealer costs $6.99 for 0.045 fl oz, and is available at most major drugstores. After falling hard in love with YSL Touche Éclat, my main concern when using the product was always using as little as possible because the high price of replacing an empty tube would burn a hole in my pocket. With the Milani Advanced HD Concealer, I don’t feel that pressure to use sparingly, since I know a replacement click pen will cost me several dollars.
Milani Advanced HD concealer applied smoothly, and lasted for over twelve hours on my face. It’s great for those who are makeup minimalists, or are in a rush and just need a quick pick me up to their face.
Bottom line: If you love YSL Touche Éclat, and the type of product it is, but you suffer from major sticker shock, give Milani HD Advanced Concealer a try. It’s easily accessible at your local drugstore, or online, and offers the same benefits as YSL, except with more coverage.
Milani HD Advanced Concealer retails for $6.99 at all major drugstores. It can also be purchased online at CherryCulture.com by clicking the photograph below:
