I’m back with another NARS Eye Paint! This time in Iskandar, a gorgeous, pure metallic gold. You just can’t go wrong having pure metallic shades in your eyeshadow collection. You can wear them alone for a wash of trendy color, add darker shades to create a smoky eye, and dress them up for the holiday season. Don’t miss my swatches and makeup look inside,

It’s been such a hugely grey past few days, literally and figuratively. I actually broke my foot and tore my Achilles tendon on Saturday night, so I’m stuck mostly in bed and limited in what I can do. Of course, I still love playing with makeup so I’m more than happy to grab my crutches and hobble over to my office to do blog posts.
These NARS Eye Paints are amazing. I recently reviewed “Tatar,” which is a purple shimmer suspended in a black base. The idea behind these is that they are a cream formula eyeshadow product that dries down to a long-lasting, long-wearing powder-like finish.
Iskandar is a pure metallic gold. It’s absolutely lovely and so versatile. Shades like these are perfect for dressing up around the holiday season, yet they work on a daily basis if you just want a wash of metallic gleam on your lids. You can add brown and black to create a smoky eye. Metallic eyeshadow shades are classic and never go out of style. Iskandar is incredibly pigmented and rich in color, as well.
This was one swipe with my finger into the product. How insanely beautiful is this shade?! It’s so flattering for every single eye color. I decided to sweep Iskandar over my entire eyelid, applying it into the socket area so that when I used a fluffy blending brush to blend out any harsh lines, I got a bit of a gradient gold look in my crease. I applied Urban Decay’s “Ransom” Liner onto my lower lash-line to add a flash of bright color. I love gold and purple together.
Iskandar applied perfectly on the eyelid. It was smooth, rich in color, and easily blendable with my brushes. It looks super metallic and shimmery on the eyelid and it’s very flattering. I am loving these new NARS Eye Paints so much!
NARS Eye Paints will be available starting September 1st, 2013 at Nordstrom, NARS Boutiques, and on NarsCosmetics.com. There will be ten shades total to choose from. Each Eye Paint retails for $25.00 USD. I have one other shade to show you here on Beauty Gala this week, so keep your eyes peeled! If you’d like to see swatches of another shade, Tatar, click here.
