I always seem to find special makeup releases in the most uncommon of places when I am not even searching. I knew that this palette was a thing and I had yet to spot it anywhere, in any drugstore or any mass retailer yet. This past week, I ran out to Walmart to get some more makeup remover wipes and boom, I run straight into a huge stack of the new Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Eyeshadow Palette. I actually am not sure if this is a Walmart exclusive or not, but I have not seen this palette anywhere else but Walmart, so I would check your local Walmart store if you’re interested. This is a fantastic dupe for Urban Decay’s Naked 3 Palette, with rosy neutral shades making up the majority of the eyeshadows. It also happens to be a fraction of the price! I’ve got swatches and my thoughts inside.
The Blushed Nudes is a palette consisting of twelve eyeshadow shades, all in neutral tones. The emphasis here is on the blushed aspect, mostly meaning that these shades have more rose and pink tones to them. This palette is extremely similar to Urban Decay’s Naked 3 Palette, which is primarily cool and rosy toned like this one. If you’re on a budget or you simply don’t want to drop the money on the Naked 3 Palette, this bargain-priced Maybelline palette is a great option for you.
The top row consists of your rosiest pink shades. There is a good mix of matte, satin, and shimmer eyeshadow finishes in this palette which I appreciate. It’s nice to see that they thought to include some matte shades for those who don’t like a lot of shimmer. I personally love the matte shades for use in the crease/socket of my eyes and if you have more mature skin, you may prefer matte shades as well, because they don’t highlight fine lines and eyelid wrinkles.
I think this is a palette that pretty much every skin tone can enjoy and wear. The light shades show up quite well on the skin and are great for the brow-bone, inner corners of the eyes, and even as a highlighter shade for the face. The darker shades will show up on medium to dark skin tones as well.
SWATCHES:
TOP ROW: This top row is absolutely gorgeous. I was so impressed with the pigmentation and the formulation of the eyeshadow. They were all soft and while some of the matte shades were slightly powdery, they all had good pigmentation. The shades are all pink-based and rosy, so if you prefer pink undertones in your makeup, you’re going to fall in love. I personally think both warm and cool skin tones will get use out of this palette, and you’ll see why in the bottom row of swatches…
BOTTOM ROW: This row is composed of your brown shades and while some of the shades are cool-toned, there are also some warm tones. They all had great pigmentation with the exception of that last color, which is supposed to be a matte black with glitter suspended in it. It was the only shade that gave me trouble. This row is gorgeous for smoking the top row of shades out and adding definition to the eye.
Overall, with only one out of the twelve shades being lackluster, I have to say that I love this palette. I think it’s a wonderful bargain option for those who want rosy, pink-toned eyeshadow shades and don’t want to splurge on the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette. I also think even if you do own the Naked 3 Palette, this is a great palette to own that is inexpensive and can be thrown into your makeup bag. It’s under $10 and you can create makeup looks appropriate for both the office and a night out with it.
Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Eyeshadow Palette retails for $9.98USD and is available at Walmart stores nationwide. I have not seen or found this palette personally at any other retailers other than Walmart, so I am not sure if this is a Walmart exclusive or not. I would, however, check Walmart first and foremost if you are searching for this palette.
