I brought back my old tradition of “drugstore hopping” the other night, which is basically where I drive my husband crazy by visiting every drugstore in a ten mile radius to see what new releases they have. I finally found the Maybelline Fall 2013 Runway Collection which I had been on the prowl for. First of all, these Maybelline EyeStudio Eyeshadow Palettes and I go way back. From the very first month they were released years ago, I fell in love with how plush and pigmented they always are. I own almost every single palette in the permanent and limited edition collections and I think they are a home run when it comes to beauty bargain eyeshadow palettes. Autumn Dream is the palette that particularly caught my eye from the display because of the stunning jewel tones it has.
If you’ve never tried a Maybelline EyeStudio Eyeshadow Palette, I’m telling you, give one a try and prepare to be amazed. These are extremely soft, blendable, and pigmented for being drugstore products. There are four eyeshadow shades in each palette and there are quite a few color combinations to suit everyone’s taste. I fell in love with Autumn Dream because it has the perfect jewel-toned shades for fall and winter. I love rich shades of violet, green, and blue for the colder months.
Autumn Dream contains a shimmering off-white, a bright violet purple shimmer, a shimmering emerald, and a shimmering blue-black.
In typical Maybelline EyeStudio Palette fashion, these are stunning. They are very rich in color with just one swipe, and they all have a stellar gleam to them. The purple shade even has a bit of a metallic duo-chrome effect to it that glows blue-violet.
These are so soft, and never overly powdery or chalky. The best way to describe these is plush. They have a wonderful softness to them that makes them really easy to apply and blend out with your brushes.
THE LOOK: For this look, I decided to use the purple and darkened blue on my eyelid. Using one side of a flat eyeshadow brush, apply the purple over your entire eyelid. Then, dip the other side of the same brush into the blue, and pat it on the outer half of your eyelid. Go back and flip the brush over again and apply the purple where the two colors meet. Keep flipping the brush back and forth with each color until you get a really nice blended gradient look. I did this same effect to the lower lash-line, and it’s a stunning combination. It glows violet and then fades into a violet-blue shimmer. I applied the emerald green shade in the crease of my eye and blended it out well with a fluffy blending brush. I used the off-white in the inner corners of my eyes and applied it to my brow-bone as a highlight. I added black eyeliner to my lower water-line and added mascara. The result is a gorgeous jewel-toned gradient!
If you’re a purple lover like I am, you will fall in love with this look. I have to say, I really adore the way the eyeshadow combination looks. This is the perfect eye makeup to wear for a night out. It’s smoky, sexy, and unique.
The Maybelline Fall 2013 Runway Collection is limited edition for Fall 2013 and can be found at drugstores nationwide. Each palette retails for under $10.00 USD, making these a major beauty bargain. I believe I saw three other palettes in the collection, including an all purple palette, an all brown/neutral palette, and a brown/green mixed palette. I also have some of the amazing lipsticks from the collection coming up!

I bought this palette like a month ago and I was nicely surprised by its quality. I have been using the light shade for highlighting almost every day, the sparkle is incredible. I will have to recreate a look similar to yours.
