Recently I picked up this MAC Burgundy Times Nine Eyeshadow Palette. I really like the variety of shades in it and the price point is only $32.00USD, so I really consider it a good deal for 9 shades. It’s very travel friendly in terms of size and unless you’re using this multiple times per day for a year straight, it’s not likely you’ll run out of product. The shades are really universally flattering on all skin tones and eye colors, which is what I was drawn to. You really get a nice mixture of violet and burgundy hues with both shimmer and matte finishes. I’ve got a full tutorial inside and the rest of the look!
HOW TO GET THE LOOK: (each eyeshadow in this palette is sold individually by MAC, as well, so I will be listing their shade names for reference)
- Apply Shade 1 (Star Violet) into the socket of your eye with a fluffy blending brush liberally. Blend it upward toward your brow-bones. I also applied this shade along my lower lashes using the same brush.
- Apply Shade 2 (Sketch) into the crease of your eye only, building the color up so that it’s nice and dark in the crease and outer corners of your eyes. Apply a small amount to the outer portion of your lower lash-line.
- Apply Shade 3 (Honey Lust) on your eyelid and into the inner tear ducts for a gorgeous pop of golden shimmer.
- Use Shade 4 (Poppyseed) on your brow-bone to highlight the area and blend down your socket shade.
To finish the eye look, I applied black eyeliner to my upper water-line and flicked it into a major cat-eye. I used Kat Von D’s Tattoo Liner in Trooper. I also used MAC’s Chromagraphic Pencil in NC15/NW20 along my water-line to open the entire eye.
I just adore the way gold and violet-burgundy shades look together. They really flatter every skin tone and eye color beautifully. This is a look that anyone can wear.
Since I wanted to keep this look soft, overall, I kept the rest of the face natural looking. I used a peachy-nude blush and Kylie Cosmetics Lip Gloss in “Literally” on my lips.
I’m definitely pleased that I grabbed the MAC Burgundy Times Nine Eyeshadow Palette. It gives you a chance to try out and use 9 shades of MAC eyeshadow for a low cost. Each palette retails for $32.00USD. There are also several other “Times Nine” Palette’s available with different shades and hues in them. It’s a nice way to own and use MAC shadows without buying each one individually and overpaying.
You can purchase the palette online here or at MAC counters nationwide.
