Tutorial: Simple Urban Decay Rollergirl Eye Makeup Look

The busier my life gets (and I’m sure yours, as well), the more you search for simple, fast eye makeup looks you can achieve, while still looking fresh and pretty. The Urban Decay Rollergirl Palette is a gorgeous set of four eyeshadows, and it is a great example of how to wear pink eyeshadow without looking like you have an eye infection. Again, this look is not meant to be extremely complicated, and is something the average woman can achieve in less than ten minutes flat. To see photographs and how to get this look (you can use any similar shades in your collection as well!),

One of the greatest ways to wear bright eyeshadow is by using it in the crease with a neutral. It adds that funky, unexpected pop of color, and doesn’t overwhelm your entire eyelid or makeup look. Many people are hesitant to use pink as an eyeshadow for fear of making themselves look sick, or like they have an eye infection. The bright pink shade in this palette, Woodstock, is very pigmented, and is very flattering against the other neutral shades.

To achieve this simple eye look, apply an eyeshadow primer or base on your eye. I use Urban Decay Primer Potion almost always because I absolutely love it. Apply Verve (boxed in red), all over your entire eyelid up to the brow-bone, focusing on the inner corners of your eyes for adding glow and depth. Apply Suspect (boxed in blue), over your eyelid up to your crease. This is just a slightly darker neutral shade, so the inner corners pop even more. Apply Woodstock (boxed in green), to the crease of your lid in a back and forth motion, and blend it slightly into the outer “V” of your eye. You’ll get a bright pop of color against neutrals that is playful but not overly dramatic. You can choose to apply eyeliner if you wish…I lined just under the lower lash line with the darkest shade in the palette, Darkhorse, being careful to avoid the waterline so as not to make my eyes look smaller. I also applied my favorite mascara to finish it off. The entire look took me less than five minutes, and earned me a lot of nice compliments. It’s a way to wear color for those who are color-shy with makeup since the neutrals blend seamlessly into the pink.

I finished off the look with a glowing pink blush (NARS “Orgasm”), and a pink lipstick by DiorAddict.
