Perfect Formula Nail Lacquer was started by Shari Gottesman, who just happens to have helped to create some of the beauty industry’s most well known nail color collections. The brand is known for it’s “suit of armor” strengthening formula, formulated with keratin and calcium, offering immediate strength and thickness to the nail. I don’t know about you ladies, but my nails need all the strength and fortifying they can get. Perfect Formula’s Fall/Winter 2010 collection is called the “Perfect Color Collection,” (click that link to see our preview of all six shades). The Perfect Color Collection contains grays, plums, berry pinks, and even a gorgeous emerald shade. The collection contains bold, fashion-forward, but sophisticated colors for the upcoming season. I had the fabulous opportunity to test out a shade from the collection, “Avant Gray,” which happens to be a true to gray shade that departs us from the typical black and deepened jewel shades we are seeing this season. To see plenty of swatches, and what I thought of this nail lacquer,
Perfect Formula nail lacquer’s contain keratin and calcium for instant strength technology for your nails. My biggest problem with my nails when I am not wearing nail polish is brittle, peeling nails that scream for strength. To have a nail polish that can both instantly, and over time, strengthen your nails from the inside out is a dream. Essentially, you’re getting a two-in-one product that does double duty: providing health to your nails, and providing gorgeous color to your nail.
Avant Gray is a true gray nail polish. I have to be perfectly honest – I have a bit of a love affair with gray nail polishes. It all started with China Glaze’s “Recycle,” and slowly, I started purchasing more gray nail polish shades over time. Gray nail polish is very trendy right now, but beyond the current trends, it is a classic, sophisticated, timeless shade. This season we are seeing a ton of darkened jewel shades (think: emerald, navy, plum), and gray is a great way to get away from the usual. Also, it’s a great starting point if you want to wear dark nail polish, such as black, but you’re not sure if you’re ready to make the plunge quite yet.
I wanted to include a lot of swatches to show you how different and moody this nail polish can look in various lighting (with camera flash, without, in sunlight, in cloudiness, etc). The formula on this polish lives up to its name: perfect. It applied even, smooth, and the brush was a dream to work with. Two coats of this polish was perfect, and it looked like shiny, flawless perfection. Also, I noticed the strengthening formula immediately. My nails felt harder, thicker, and stronger as soon as I applied this nail lacquer. Let’s just say that I don’t think my nails will be peeling anymore anytime soon.
