When I cut over 9 inches of my hair off recently, I decided to go for the very stylish and trendy “lob” hairstyle. A long bob, also known as a “lob,” is the perfect cut to style in loose, voluminous waves. Think: beach hair. I’m going to show you step by step how I style mine and how you can achieve yours at home!
STEP ONE: I always start off with my John Frieda Root Blur™ Colour Blending Concealer Amber to Maple For Light to Medium Brunette, because it makes my middle part look flawless. Middle parts tend to emphasis root regrowth and that’s just not cute. This product is a powder that erases roots instantly and will not rub off because it lasts until your next shampoo. It also covers grey hair if you have any, although I’m lucky enough to not have to worry about that yet. It helps me conceal my roots until my next color and feels completely non-sticky and non-crunchy (like hairspray sometimes can). It comes with two shades that are easily blendable for a customized shade. Think of it as transfer resistant “makeup” for your roots!
STEP TWO: Section your hair off with a clip. I like to work with my hair in thirds. This ensures you are not missing any pieces and get a long lasting style.
STEP THREE: Curl one inch sections of hair, alternating between the curl facing toward your face and the curl facing away from your face. Be sure to curl the pieces framing your head away from your face.
STEP FOUR: Lightly tousle the curls with your fingers after they have cooled. I like to use a texture spray at this point.
Voila. PERFECT LONG BOB! You’ve got yourself a wavy, voluminous, sexy long bob now. This hairstyle is super trendy right now, but it’s also very classic and practical.
You can find John Frieda Root Blur™ Colour Blending Concealer Amber to Maple For Light to Medium Brunette and all the other shades they offer on a special end-cap display at Target stores nationwide, right near the rest of their hair products, through March 5th, 2016. They have a special promotion right now: buy 3 products and get a $5 Target gift card.
