Holiday 2017: Urban Decay Heavy Metals Eyeshadow Palette Swatches

So this just dropped on Urban Decay’s website a few days ago, and thanks to quick shipping, it’s here already. I knew I had to come and do a swatch post on this right away because this is one of my favorite releases from any makeup brand this year. It is filled with shimmery metallic eyeshadow shades that you will adore. Swatches inside,

First of all, the packaging. The packaging cannot be ignored because it’s a beauty. The outside is a metallic purple mirror with a ripple design. You slide the eyeshadow shades out one side and there is a mirror in the center. On each side of the mirror there are delectable metallic shimmer shades. One side is jewel-tones and the other is all neutrals. Both sides are stunning and even if you don’t see yourself wearing some bright metallic blue eyeshadow, you will be floored by how wearable every shade on the left-hand side is.

Okay, time for swatches!

Jewel tones, no flash

These light up when a camera flash hits them. I think every shade is actually very wearable because they have a rocker-inspired “darkness” to them that prevents them from being overly bright. The metallic shimmer is strong and one pass of color puts down rich pigmentation. As a purple lover, I am adoring those violet shades in the middle!

I suspect that many people will want the palette just for this side alone. I’m here to tell you: it’s worth the hype. You get a broad spectrum of neutrals, both warm and cool-toned. I am pretty much enamored with this side of the palette and will be using it regularly. Again, the pigmentation was rich with every shade and what I dig the most is that none of the eyeshadows felt chunky or gritty in texture.

The Urban Decay Heavy Metals Eyeshadow Palette is limited edition for Holiday 2017 and is currently for sale at Urban Decay’s website right now. It will be released to other retailers online (Sephora, Ulta, Macy’s, etc) on October 15th, 2017 and in stores on October 29th, 2017.
