Okay, okay, so I realize you probably aren’t going to head out to the supermarket in the middle of the day with a highlight this blindingly strong, but if you did, I wouldn’t judge you. This Anastasia Moonchild Glow Kit has been in my makeup collection for awhile now, but it wasn’t until recently when I started picking it up daily and playing around with unique looks.
The Anastasia Moonchild Glow Kit contains 6 shades of powder highlighter that all have a unique duo-chrome effect to them. Each shade has a reflect to it depending on the lighting and angle. Here are the shades and effects:
- Blue Ice: diamond white with an icy blue reflect
Star: moonstone fusion of mint, platinum and silver reflect
Purple Horseshoe: glittering lavender with an arctic blue reflect
Pink Heart: pearl white with a pink opal reflect
Lucky Clover: shamrock-infused gold with canary yellow diamond reflect
Blue Moon: frozen blue with a silver reflect
As you can tell by my palette, I’ve been using it regularly on my cheekbones and even as an eyeshadow. For this post and look, I’ve used Pink Heart all over my cheekbones heavily, as well as on my brow-bone. I wanted the look to be editorial looking, so don’t think that you have to apply this much product yourself.
The palette is pigmented and really soft. The shades blend out easily and you can really layer on the colors to your preference. You can also mix shades together to create fun combinations.
A small dip of your brush into this palette will create a very wearable cheek highlight with just a touch of unique duo-chrome shimmer to it. I think some people see this palette and think “I could never wear that,” but it’s actually very subtle if you use a light hand.
For my lips, I used Lime Crime Diamond Crushers in “Lit” which is a liquid glitter lipstick that dries down and doesn’t budge (shown above underneath the palette). You can use it as a lip topper with another shade under it or wear it alone like I did for this post. Like I said, I was going for a very high fashion, editorial look for this post intentionally, so I wanted to look like I had fairy dust everywhere!
Makeup is my art, so when I find products that I can play around with to create a dramatic look, I get really passionate.
So while you may not find yourself dripping in shimmer and glitter like I am here, I definitely recommend these products for an ethereal glow to your everyday makeup routine. The Anastasia Moonchild Glow Kit has so many spectacular duo-chromes in it to play around with.
