Juvia’s Place is an indie brand of makeup that I discovered toward the end of 2016. The brand has some really gorgeous eyeshadow palettes at great prices and you can usually find a coupon code online to take a deeper discount off the product. I am an eyeshadow palette junkie, so of course I had to purchase one and see how I liked the overall formulation and shades. I have the Masquerade Palette today for you which was inspired by African festivities and culture. There is a fantastic mix of bolds and neutrals to create a plethora of looks. I have the full tutorial inside,
The palette has sixteen shades in it with a mix of matte, satin, and shimmer finishes. The first half of the palette has all your bold, bright shades and the bottom half has your neutrals.
HOW TO GET THIS LOOK:
- Place the shade marked “O” into the crease of your eye and blend upward generously toward your brow-bone. Apply this all along the lower lash-line.
- Go in with the shade marked “X” and apply this with a patting motion to your eyelid, stopping just before the crease. Apply this shade to the center of your lower lash-line only for a pop of shimmer.
I did use the lightest shade in the palette to clean up right under my brow-bone and for a soft highlight. The shades are super pigmented and blend really well. This is a great example of a makeup look that only requires a couple of colors and still looks rich and beautiful.
Of course I finished my eye look off with black eyeliner on the lower water-line and upper lashes. I used Ardency Inn Modster Eyeliner in Black on my lower lash-line and to tight-line my upper lashes. I adore this eyeliner because it’s jet black and glides on very easily. I used Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper on my upper lash-line to create the cat-eye. My lashes are It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara (my all-time favorite) with Ardell Demi Wispies lashes on top.
No matter what your eye color is, this is going to make them pop. On brown eyes, it tends to bring out the warm sparkle. On hazel, blue, and green eyes, it contrasts them and makes them look lighter and brighter.
My lip color is the new Marc Jacobs Le Marc Liquid Lipstick in “Fawn Over Me.” If I didn’t give this product a shoutout, it would be a shame because this is my new favorite lip formula. It goes on like a liquid lipstick and lasts, yet it feels so hydrating and smooth. If you try it, you will fall in love. I want every shade!
The Juvia’s Place Masquerade Palette is available online here. They often have their palettes on sale and there is almost always a coupon code available if you use Google. They have several other eyeshadow palettes that they offer, including one with all neutrals if you’re more of a natural makeup lover.
