Lookbook: Tarte Cosmetics for True Blood™ Limited Edition Palette, Photographs & Swatches

Inspired by the hit HBO series True Blood™, Tarte’s limited edition palette contains 17 eyeshadows, a full-size emphasEYES Aqua-Gel Eyeliner in black, a deluxe Lights, Camera Lashes! mascara, and a deluxe Lifted Natural Eye Primer. The palette itself is included in a black and red leather lace “boudoir” pattern that is very vampy. I was very excited for this to come out, and I snagged it as soon as it was available on Sephora online. To see photographs and swatches of everything,

The palette’s packaging is absolutely amazing! Sometimes I get tired of how “pretty” some palettes always are and I want something more edgy. This palette has that leather and lace “gothic” feel to it, and it’s beautiful. The pull-out drawer on the palette says “Open After Dark,” which contains the full-size eyeliner, the deluxe mascara, and the deluxe eye primer.

Tarte Full-size Eyeliner

I haven’t used this mascara or eye primer before, but I have used the aqua-gel eyeliner and I really like it. It stays put and applies smoothly onto your eye area, so I was happy they included a full-size one in this kit. Each of these are stamped with the True Blood™ logo, font, and colors.

Opening up the eyeshadow portion

All 17 eyeshadows in this palette have a True Blood™ inspired name, and the palette itself comes with a plastic overlay containing the names over top of each shadow. I can’t say I’m going to remember every shade name off the top of my head, but I did want to take a photograph showing you the overlay on the eyeshadows because I swatched and labeled them according to shade name.

SWATCHES, STARTING FROM TOP LEFT, DIAGONALLY IN ROWS:

Are these not FANTASTIC?! I love, love, LOVE them. They are so highly pigmented and soft, and the palette contains a great mix of matte and shimmers. I also love the mix of dark and light. Swoon.

The palette also comes with a plastic insert that shows four looks you can create with this palette, done by Brigette Myre-Ellis, True Blood™’s lead makeup artist.

Tarte Cosmetics is formulated without parabens and synthetic fragrances, making it a great brand to try if you are sensitive to cosmetics. If you’re a True Blood™ fan, this is a must-have. It’s alluring, vampy, and it perfectly depicts the TV show. Even if you’ve never watched the show, you will enjoy this palette as it’s truly just a great mix of light and dark, sweet and sexy.

Tarte Cosmetics for True Blood™ Palette is limited edition and available at Sephora stores nationwide as well as online at Sephora. Tarte also released a True Blood™ limited edition cheek stain and lip tint to go with this collection. To purchase this palette, click the photograph and link below:
