Maybelline ExpertWear Eyeshadow Quad’s are brand new to the drugstore scene with all new color combination’s. The palette that particularly caught my eye was “Seashore Frosts,” and while I admit I was drawn to it because a very gorgeous Christy Turlington was wearing it in the advertisement, it is even more gorgeous in person. This palette is all about pastels and soft, light-reflecting shades that make your eyes look like cotton candy. Since I’ve always had good results with Maybelline eyeshadow, I figured I would go ahead and give this one a shot. To see photographs and swatches, read more…

Silent Treatment is the last and final palette in the Wet n Wild new for 2011 collection. This palette seems to be one of the most popular, probably because it is the most neutral and wearable. The colors are gorgeous, and you can create the perfect smokey eye with this kit. The best part about this palette is that you can play with the shades, creating a super dramatic smokey eye, or a daytime appropriate eye by using a lighter hand. The last and final brand new Wet n Wild palette to be featured on Beauty Gala is probably also the most popular. Silent Treatment has been sold out in every store I’ve seen this display in, and features three gorgeous, rich neutral colors. To see photographs and swatches, read more…

Spoiled Brat is a dramatic combination of metallic silver, matte fuchsia, and sparkling matte black. The overall effect with this palette is going to be bold, especially with each shade being so full of pigment. The look I did is smokey and sexy, but also playful. If you are more of an edgy beauty, you can wear this look for Valentine’s Day instead of wearing softer shades. I love the smokiness because I feel it adds sophistication to the hot pink on the entire eyelid, which can sometimes look harsh against certain complexions. The Sephora Favorites “Glitz & Glam” Sampler Kit is a box filled with deluxe samples of best-selling and favorite Sephora products that shine and shimmer. I cannot tell you how much I adore the “Sephora Favorites” kits. I think it is a fantastic idea to offer a kit with many deluxe samples rather than committing to a full-size product you might dislike. It is a great way to try out a variety of products in a particular category (i.e, perfume, mascara) without breaking the bank. This particular kit even comes with a “FREE 100 V.I.B BEAUTY POINTS” (which is equivalent to another free deluxe sample of your choice) if you purchase a full size product that is contained within the kit. I feel that if Sephora started including a perk inside every Sephora Favorites kit, more consumers would be likely to purchase a full-size product they enjoyed in the kit. To see full photographs and swatches of every deluxe sample in this kit, read more…

Wet n Wild has an assortment of brand new eyeshadow palettes out, and they are incredibly pigmented and rich in color. This is the 2nd to last palette I have for you in terms of swatching and an eye makeup look. Spoiled Brat is actually one of my favorites from the new palettes, and as soon as I saw it, I snatched that baby up (these are selling like hot cakes!). This palette is perfect for an edgy, rock-and-roll Valentine’s Day look, which I will show tomorrow! To see photographs and swatches of this palette, read more…

Dior Vernis Gris City Nail Lacquer Collection is a collection of three nail lacquers that are inspired by an urban voyage that reinvents Monsieur Dior’s beloved color grey for the three capitals of fashion and luxury in the world: Paris, London, and New York. Each shade represents one of these cities, in both color, name, and attitude. This collection is just oozing in luxurious, sophisticated color. To see photographs and swatches, read more…

Bold! Jewel tones! Retro, cotton candy-esque flair! The Wet n Wild “I’m Feeling Retro” palette is truly gorgeous. Wet n Wild makes it so easy to apply their eyeshadow, with a handy guide on the back of each palette for beginners, and with labeled shades. You know I love bold, daring makeup, and this palette got me there. This palette was a little harder to work with than I thought it would be. The fuchsia and the blue weren’t as pigmented as when swatching, but add a little bit of mixing medium or water, and you’ve got rich color again. To see how to get this look, read more…

Wet n Wild has an assortment of brand new eyeshadow palettes out, and they are incredibly pigmented and rich in color. The 4th palette to be swatched on Beauty Gala is, “I’m Feeling Retro.” I am loving the colors in this palette! They remind me perfectly of retro times with their pigmented jewel-tones. Beauty Gala still has two more Wet n Wild palettes after this one to swatch and do looks for! We simply can’t get enough, and after receiving feedback from all of you, the feeling is mutual!
