The brand new Maybelline ExpertWear Eyeshadow Quad’s come in a wide array of color combination’s, and the one that caught my eye the most was “Seashore Frosts.” In our previous post, we swatched this palette, and saw how the colors are soft, velvety, and pure pastel gorgeousness. In fact, the shades remind me of cotton candy so much that I wanted this look to be playfully soft. To see how to get this look,
Each shade in Seashore Frosts is labeled according to where you can apply the colors. On the back of the palette, there is a diagram showing where each part of your eye is (brow-bone, crease, etc). Maybelline makes application of this product incredibly easy to follow, but remember – there are no “rules” as to how you can apply these colors! I went for a soft, cotton-candy inspired look that is playful and flirty. I topped my look off with a silver glitter eyeliner to add some fun glitz to it.
Seashore Frosts Eye Makeup Instructions:
- Apply the pastel baby blue over your entire eyelid, all the way up to your brow-bone, mostly focusing this color on the brow-bone. This will act as our base for the rest of the look, and help the lavender pop.
- Apply the lavender purple shade over your entire eyelid. I wet my eyeshadow to make this color pop even more. This is, of course, optional, and the color has enough pigment to stand out on its own. Focus fire the lavender over your eyelid and just to the crease of your eye.
- Apply the sparkling dark plum shade to the crease of your eye with a pencil brush, using a very light hand. We don’t want the look to be super smokey, we just want a little extra definition. You can blend out this color with your pencil brush or a fluffy blending brush to make it look extra soft.
- Apply the forest green to your entire lower lash line, creating a frosty, metallic green pop that is unexpected!
- Go back and reapply the baby blue color on your brow-bone, making it pop even more.
- Apply a silver glitter or shimmer eyeliner to your upper lash line. I used Hard Candy’s “Lace” liquid eyeliner, which looks somewhat transparent in the photographs because of the flash and the clear base it is in. In real life, the formula is sparkly, and really looks opaque when applied along the lash line.
- Curl your lashes and apply mascara.
The final result is very whimsical. The Hard Candy “Walk The Line” glitter eyeliner in “Lace” really pulls in the metallic green liner on your lower lash line, and even if some of it transfers to your lashes, you get almost a “fairy tale” look from it.
Maybelline ExpertWear Eyeshadow Quad’s are currently available in fourteen combination’s at drugstores nationwide. I bought this palette for under $5 at my local Walmart, making it a fantastic beauty bargain.
