Lookbook: Urban Decay 24/7 Jackpot Set

mainuse2

Urban Decay’s 24/7 Liner Jackpot Set consists of 9 mini-eyeliners and one full size eyeliner, “Zero,” which is their best-selling shade, a classic black. With Urban Decay’s 24/7 eyeliner being my all-time favorite eyeliner, and “Zero,” being the one I reach for the most, this set is heaven for me. These eyeliners are waterproof, and they stay put, giving you gorgeous pigmentation. The problem is, these eyeliners cost $17 a pop for a full-size pencil, so when a set comes along that allows me to try and own multiple shades, I jump at the chance. It allows me to decide what shades I love, which ones are just alright, and which ones I will barely reach for, without dishing out a ton of money. To see photographs and swatches of every pencil in this kit, read more…

Autumn Lookbook: New York Color Berry Bloom Collection, Rose Lip Gloss

main6

New York Color’s Berry Bloom Collection for Fall 2010 yet again impresses, highlighting the romantic berries that we have seen all over the runways this season. In this collection are two rose lip glosses, in “Rose Kiss,” and “Peony Kiss.” The packaging on these lip glosses are just darling – the rose design on the actual lip gloss is reminiscent of higher-end products who put extra special touches and effects to make the products feel luxurious. The colors are rich, creamy, and pigmented, and perfect for the cooler weather, so go ahead and take a look for more swatches… read more…

Lookbook: Bobbi Brown Sparkle Eyeshadow “Black Velvet”

mainuse1

The Bobbi Brown Black Velvet Collection for Fall 2010 has been widely anticipated, and highly sold out everywhere. One of the products that Bobbi Brown included in this collection is Sparkle Eyeshadow. Bobbi Brown is most widely known for her fresh-faced, neutral cosmetics and looks, and this was a fantastic surprise. The first thing I think about when I hear “sparkle eyeshadow” is fall-out. Fall-out is when your eyeshadow ends up underneath your eyes when applying, and it is especially terrible with a lot of glitter eyeshadows. Bobbi Brown has managed to create the perfect sparkle eyeshadow with absolutely no fall-out to it whatsoever. To see plenty of photographs and swatches of this favorite eyeshadow of mine, read more…

Lookbook: Bare Escentuals Bare Minerals Liner Shadow, “Black Emerald” Swatches

main4

One of my favorite ways to switch my makeup up for the cooler weather is to do smokey eyes in unexpected colors. Most smokey eyes have typical shades of gray and black, or even brown. When you do a smokey eye in an unexpected color, such as purple, or green, it really makes your eye color pop, and adds an extra sexiness to the overall effect. One of my favorite Bare Escentuals eyeshadow shades ever is “Black Emerald,” which is a Bare Minerals Liner Shadow, meaning it can be used as an eyeliner or an eyeshadow. The pigment is super soft, rich in color, and has a gleam like none other. To see more photographs and swatches, read more…

Lookbook: Milani Lip Flash Swatches

main3

Milani Cosmetics Lip Flash Lip Pencils are high-voltage lip “crayons” for your pucker. These pencils are amazing in every way possible, and I was blown away by how pretty the color selection was. Each pencil is thick like a crayon, with a soft, smooth, rich tip that leaves a lipstick-like formula on your lips. Each of the eight shades has shimmer and “flash” to it, making them extra dramatic and unique. To see swatches of the full collection, read more…

Tutorial: Cheetah/Leopard Print Nails

51

Right now, I am very much into leopard print everything and anything. I have been buying leopard print wedges and pumps, jewelry, office decor, you name it! I decided to do an at-home leopard print manicure to go along with my current affinity for the print, and you have to trust me when I tell you, it is very easy! You can easily do this manicure by hand at home, like I did, in under thirty minutes. To see a full photographic tutorial, read more…

Nail of the Day: Orly Nail Lacquer, “Royal Navy”

swatch11

Orly’s “Royal Navy” is one of my all-time favorite blue nail polishes. Not only is the electric blue color enticing enough to look almost 3-D on your nails, but they added lighter blue shimmer in it to make it truly electrifying. This is definitely in my top 3 favorite blue nail polishes of all time, and a shade I pull out whenever an American-pride based holiday comes around (see: Labor Day!). I wore this nail polish all weekend long, so if you’d like to see more swatches, read more…

Beauty Bargain Lookbook: Sinful Colors Autumn 2010 Collection

main1

Sinful Colors has a vast collection of nail polishes, both in their permanent collection, and in their seasonal collections. Some of their seasonal collections contain re-releases of shades mixed with brand new colors. I saw this Sinful Colors Autumn 2010 Collection out on display at my local Rite Aid, and the display itself did not have a specific name on it, except that it was being marketed with dark, fall-appropriate shades. The collection is absolutely gorgeous, and the five shades I picked up are unique, sophisticated, and gorgeous. To see photographs and swatches, read more…
