Lookbook: Sinful Colors “Lang Lang”

swatch4

Run – do not walk – to your nearest drugstore and buy this Sinful Colors nail polish shade from the Shanghai Nights Collection. “Lang Lang” is the most gorgeous, shiny, high definition shade of indigo. In some lighting, it flashes bright hot blue, igniting from your nails, and in other lighting, it looks like a flashy, high definition bright purple. The shade is intensely shiny on your nails, and has the most gorgeous almost 3-D quality to it. The color literally pops right off your nails, and it reminds me of Sally Hansen’s HD polishes. Lookbook: Benefit Posie Tint

product19

Calling all natural beauties! Benefit Benetint has been around since 1977, and it has been a classic makeup favorite by women of all ages and races. A classic red lip and cheek stain, it has been worn by women for decades. Benefit has modernized Benetint with its “little sister,” Posie Tint. Posie Tint is a poppy-tinted lip and cheek stain, which is sheer enough to leave a natural pink flush, and pigmented enough to be layered for greater impact if desired. To see how beautiful Posie Tint looks, read more…

Quick Review: Palladio Natural Rice Powder

main7

Palladio Natural Rice Powder contains the original Chinese rice powder formula that is one of the oldest makeup secrets around. This powder is used primarily as an oil-absorbing powder and to set makeup, and what a great job it does at both of those tasks! I was so impressed with this powder that I knew I had to write about it as soon as possible. The powder smells fresh and light, almost like baby powder, and I cannot get enough of the scent! It feels super soft and silky on your skin, and you will be amazed at the texture once you blend it in. Rice Powder is also non-comedogenic, meaning it will not clog your pores. read more…

Lookbook: LORAC Baked Matte Satin Blush, “Flaunt” and “Plush”

useformain3

These two blushes were in front of the LORAC Cosmetics display in Sephora for the past several months, as they were new releases, and they instantly caught my eye. For one, I love LORAC Cosmetics, and I use a lot of their products. Also, the shades of blush really spoke to me as colors you could wear with a lot of different makeup looks. With both in my shopping bag, I excitedly brought them home, ready to see how pigmented these blushes were. read more…

Tutorial: “Metallic Irony” Manicure

nails24

Using a dark, vampy color, and then applying bright, metallic nail art is one of the best ways to create bold but sophisticated nails. For this look, I used China Glaze “Emerald Fitzgerald” as a base, then I used a nail art striping polish to create parallel squiggly lines. The gorgeous, rich emerald color peeks out from underneath the metallic silver stripes, creating grown-up glamour. To see how I achieve this look, read more…

Lookbook: Femme Couture Lightning Lash, Electric Blue

lightninglash2

Femme Couture, a line of cosmetics sold at Sally Beauty Supply, sells a mascara called “Lightning Lash,” which is meant to lengthen your lashes to the sky. The mascara wand really grabs every single lash and separates wonderfully, while also making each eyelash extremely long. Going through a colored mascara phase, I purchased “Electric Blue,” which looks amazingly bright on the outside of the tube. Since most colored mascara’s I own do not give me a good color payoff, I was cynical, but ready to see what kind of color this distributed onto my lashes. Curious? read more…

Quick Review: Maybelline EyeStudio ColorPearls Marbleized Eyeshadow

ivyicon

I have been curious about the Maybelline Marbleized Eyeshadows since they were released with the rest of the EyeStudio line. The Maybelline EyeStudio quad’s are among my favorite drugstore eyeshadows, for their soft, plush feel, and their amazing color payoff. Not entirely sold on what these marbleized eyeshadows would be great for, I held off on purchasing one. The one shown above, “Ivy Icon,” is a gorgeous pearlescent ivy green. Now that I have swatched this eyeshadow, and played with different looks, I am very pleased with my purchase, and would definitely go back for more. To see more photographs, read more…
